Re: A couple IDs from Alki Junkyard please

I looked on the internet, your first critter might be Podocerus cristatus Amphipod

Re: A couple IDs from Alki Junkyard please

WOW on the first critter ! As for the second one, it could be a slug, Diomedes' Aglaja, I found one floating by too... https://photos.smugmug.com/Fauna-Flora/SLUGS/i-6DHNg3Q/0/ca10f8c5/XL/3.28.17%20Diomedes%27%20Aglaja%201%20-XL.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Fauna-Flora/SLUGS/i-QRt4vS9/0/01cd6784/X...

Re: Whidbey Island Critters

I sure miss the Squat lobsters, wherever they are now.
Their apartments are now just empty holes without their smily faces. :(

Another critter missing around Whidbey underwater scene. Where there were fields of Sea pens - empty sandy plain. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Possession-Point/i-pqWHVNd/0/5153e73e/XL/1.17.20%20where%20critters%20gone%20Sea%20pen-XL.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Possession-Point/i-nPktksZ...

Re: Down the memory line

After four years, I decided to add little more to my Memory Lane. After watching Space-X landing on the barges off Florida, it brought back memories when Egabrag III was involved in some pioneering ideas how to make space exploration cheaper. The year was 1990 and 1991. And since the rocket scientis...

Re: Whidbey Island Critters

While the snow and icy roads discourage road travel, I am at home, looking at old photos.
How much have some of my favorite dive localities changed. And not for better. :(

Jan, your photo compositions are stunning as always. I love your dive log- it's a work of art! What application do you use to make your photo collages? The only lens I have seen in my price range right now is the Backscatter M52 Wide Angle Air lens. I will need to buy a wide lens before my Indonesi...

Another vote for the Olympus TG. Here are some with TG-5. Re: Whidbey Island Critters

And the Sea Star Wasting Disease continues to decimate the diversity of star species here in Langley Harbor. Leather stars are slowly appearing to be the most common star on the tire reef. Interestingly, they were a rare sight prior to the outbreak of the disease. Ochre, Mottled and Pink stars are s...

Re: Whidbey Island Critters

First dive of 2020 at Langley. I choose it for ease of entry, since I am nursing my calf injury. It was not the best decision, although the dive went just fine, the leg is now back into a recovery mode. Diving put on hold, again. :( https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Langley-Tire-Reef/i-9CpjTdV/0/3eff...

Re: Whidbey Island Critters

Langley Harbor sea star survey. December 2019. Numbers are way down, even if I did not see any new cases of wasting. Just one sickly looking Ochre star. I did find some very small juveniles, babies, but I have found them last winter in great numbers, but it don't seem to be repopulating this localit...

Couple more fish from the Keystone dive. Re: Whidbey Island Critters

The new visitor (maybe even our new resident) nudibranch made it to the Slugsite as "The Ophisthobranch of the Week".
