I was helping with an OW class there in the AM...I'll check to see if anyone lost a watch. I know several students had them attached to various hoses, etc.

In my humble opinion, the UW Park is really not a beginning level dive. I know there are plenty of folks who would probably disagree with me though. You can run into pretty good currents there on a big exchange day and if diving at times other than slack. That combined with significant surface swimm...

I don't like a lot of bulk on my arms, so I went with a Weezle vest. When the water and air temps are extra cold, I use it over my regular undergarments and love it.

I don't know if there is an "advantage" to not getting the hard soled boots, except maybe price. I have the regular, softer soled boots on my USIA, and 5 years and 500+ dives later, they are in fine shape. I've walked over pavement, cement, sand, rocks, boulders, grass, hills, boat decks, ...
