Re: DIW access

You can do a work party to clear brush along the way and pack it out. Where it gets tricky is the moment you are within short distance of the water. I worked heavy equipment near waters, and even a drop of oil would get many government agencies up our buts. Now if you hand saw it, that would be ok.

Anyone to ask about dealing with it, not that I know of

Plenty of government types to jump your ass for doing it if reported.

They require (any booster) clean dry air. And lots of it. My Ingersol Rand T30 feeds an IR air dryer, and thats true 15cfm and will still constantly run

Re: Local Shark Questions

We've seen 6 or 7 now, but all 150ft and deeper. Deepest was 230. All have been in Hood Canal.

They seem more attracted to HID lights.

Haskel is the best. But the new Chinese made boosters are almost equal in quality and way way cheaper

Re: Diver closes others' tank valves during dives as a prank!

I read a true story awhile back as a guy on CCR was getting back into the boat, another asshat shut off his O2. The excuse was he wanted to see how the guy would react.

I can safely say how I'd have reacted... I'm thinking foot and solar plexus..

Re: Deep diving PADI certification in Seattle?

I was late to this one. There are a TON, and mean many many instructors int eh greater Seattle area. I've always preferred a private course. You pay more but you get so much more for your money. I hired Bob Bailey once for a weekend, and I learned so much that weekend, it was priceless.

Source, not really, But since it occurred a few days after diving, and with CCR, salt water gets spit around inside the mask(adjusting loop volume), I think it pretty safe to say came from salt water...

With my Meg, if I faceplant, I workout enough to be able to get back up with some effort. If I fall on myback, I'm a turtle and basically outa luck. Might be able to roll over, but I'll never be able to sit up.

My god that is a scary story and a horrific experience. Glad to hear you’re going to make a recovery. Do they expect you to fully regain your eyesight? I hate fussing with contacts on dive trips. I will be much more careful going forward, based on your story. Thank you so much for sharing. Sometime...

My Diving Accident End of June

Well here you go. What turned out I guess in the end to be a diving accident. I'm posting this varied places in the hope it will save someone the hell I went through. End of June, I scratched my eye slightly taking out a contact lens. Weekend came around, Jeff and I were diving the Ruston Walls. Put...

Wall'a'Palooza along Ruston

Jeff and I did Wall'a'Palooza Saturday along Ruston Way doing Lobster Shop Wall, Mofo, Course Marker, and finally Kirbys Wall. Massive Exchange, we had weird and shifting currents, downwellings, etc. Viz was excellent (For the walls), maybe not the best, but it was up there. We splashed around the l...
