I don't think it's a perch, so is it a Copper Rockfish?

(And if it isn't, I'm going to give up eye-guessing and take up knitting.)

Unfortunately, RSDancey is landlocked in Las Vegas until the 1st or so and won't be joining us.

He says Lake Mead is a bust for diving, btw, so Padigal is better off drinking when she's there for the wedding.

Calvin says: "I can't say I've never fed an eel. " Does that mean you've fed at least one? :) In volunteering for the aquarium, divers feed the wolf fish daily. I'd like to think the difference is we have had some special training ("Grab the squid between your fingers and hold your ha...

I just gave up. My 16 year old sent/received so many (an embarrassing number to and from me) that I just got the unlimited service. If she has friends in a long distance area, it's less expensive. Also, and this is a reach, hopfully her typing skills are improving. Rationalization, I know, but I'd r...

Nudibranch? Worm?

I know it's hard to see, but what the heck is this little "dalmation" colored invertebrate?

http://www.flickr.com/photos/diver_c/38 ... 519833110/

Diver C took this at around 65fsw and it was in an indented area of sand, shells and gravel at Maury Island Barges.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance,

Best of both worlds = Diving with Hubby, DiverC, and GillyWeed and Blacktoe for their 100th on Banditos in the morning, and calling the Colts beating the spread in the afternoon. I think there was a nap, pizza and family in there somewhere making it just...about...the...perfect...day. And I loved Pr...

Good pictures, Rich! I see you didn't get the dead hermit crab that was housing a shrimp in his rear section. (Holds right hand out, palm up and sticks all five fingers straight up.) That visual was brought to you by Sounder. Thank him. Nice time Tom Nic, Bassman, Sounder and Diver C. I'd be very ha...

I'm with Valerie but, in my head, I'm not nearly as diplomatic or nice about it. Poor planning and flawed execution killed those divers. A friend of mine said the problem was the divers weren't scared enough. I told him I didn't like the word scared because it implied an irrational impediment that c...

Weird Hybrid

Is there some third category? I don't know if there is a way to describe the lightswitch effect that happened after about 150 dives (I really don't count anymore. How many times have you run 5 miles, eaten at El Gaucho's or picked wildflowers?) When I first got in, it was beautiful and awe inspiring...

Power is finally on!

Doug, you and Erica are wonderful. Thank you so much for your offer. I'm done with my little pity party and can now appreciate how well off we had it. No big property damage and no-one was hurt. I had to toss everything in the fridge out and live in a cold house, but that was easy compared to what a...

Still without power.....

Five days into it and they tell us to expect power on Saturday. My husband, daughter, schnauzer, lovebird and I have "lived" there since the outtage. We have wonderful friends and family who have offered their homes up, but I've been reluctant to leave. With each cold night, that reluctanc...
