Re: Solar eclipse

Mr. Pants and I trekked to the wilds of Idaho and were fortunate enough to see totality. I have to say, it was probably the coolest thing I've ever seen, and I've seen some shit. :) If you have a chance to see the next one in seven years, go! It's a glorious thing to experience. Our photos weren't g...

Re: Large display wrist computers?

One of the issues is that my prescription is changing for the first time in decades, so until it stabilizes I don't want to keep getting multiple new lenses for regular eyes/diving eyes/mask/etc.. But yes, I very seriously considered that, and probably will when it does stabilize a bit more. But.......

What a great trip! And fantastic photos from both of you!

I've been talking about doing the Channel Islands with one of my sisters (the one in LA) for a long time. This is a great motivator!

Re: Large display wrist computers?

I have two Shearwaters...that I run in gauge mode :) Great display. Other display that's great as a bottom timer is the Liquivision...but it fades after a couple years. Oh, so you have a grocery store Ferrari and a coffee shop Ferrari? :) Yeah, the Liquivisions are great, but they've closed up shop.

Re: Large display wrist computers?

I literally just use it for depth and duration. Sometimes I will download my dives, but I usually forget. So getting an $800+ computer for that is like buying a Ferrari to run to the grocery store. Super nice, but not necessary. The used price is better though!

The one on RW is in Egypt....hm.

Re: Large display wrist computers?

It's a fantastic computer, but I'm balking at the price tag for what will essentially be a bottom timer. :(

But I do love cookies.....

Large display wrist computers?

So, I'm getting old. :rawlings: My current puck computer is getting difficult to see in the murk. I'm looking for a wrist mounted computer with the largest display I can find, without feeling like I've got a cinder block on my arm. Yes, Shearwaters are totes amazeballs!! but I keep my computer in ga...

Evenings, usually meeting up at 6:30 pm for both. The sites are chosen so that currents usually aren't too much of an issue.

The Kubi systems are fantastic, except for the price, which is steep. But I agree with George, dry gloves are so much better. I hope they work well for you!

And of course thanks to Calvin, Andy, and Gdog for the frosty adult beverages after the dive. :partyman: Also, my deepest apologies to Gdog about putting peanut ...

I'm aiming to make it to this one! I've never done Sund rock. Bring the scooter, or leave it at home? Anyone else thinking about scootering it? I'll be bringing a flat of cookies. Whoa! Mr. Pants has one, it is a fun car to drive! But the turbo really tanks the gas mileage. His is still going strong though, 15 years after he bought it.
