Re: Tank inspection classes

What I've wondered, is how do you get your tanks filled at shops after you've done the VIP? Why should they believe you? How are they going to know you know what you are doing? You are given a certification and inspectors number that is recognized buy the DOT that you have to put on each VIP decal ...

Re: Regulator questions

for the cost of a HOG and since it sounds like you are happy with them I would just get a some more to use on your stage bottles. Take a equipment class you will be surprised at just how easy rebuilding regulators is. Tools will cost you less than $200 from Scuba Tools, you can get a parts cleaner f...

The link Spatman put in is a link to a thread about Copper Bell Mine above Reider Pit here in Washington. The road is still open and yes you need a good 4x4 or quads.

Re: SK-7 Sticking

sounds like it has come off the gimbal pin. if you bang them around hard that will happen. You can try to take it apart and put it back on and refill it. More than likely the socket is going to be cracked or have a piece broken off of it so may not be fixable.

Cool

Some friends and myself have had issues before. Sometimes the cathador will hold the urethra open so water can get in is what we have had happen. Glad to here you have not had that unpleasantness yet.

Re: Pee valve replacement tubing

Just take off both check valves, they cause more hassles than good IMHO. That's the plan. I don't ever want to experience that again. The "in rush" of cold water is not bad honestly. I have found the straight tube stays clean without any hassles at all. Esp. if you open it near the end of...

Why 19/23 for the CCR?

good question, I dunno, came with 19's,and got a set of 23's for a second set of tanks. I've always thought those were a pretty standard size for CCR tanks?

I misunderstood your answer. I though you were going to be mixing 19/23 for your CCR.

Re: Finish my fill station

You would be better off just Partial Pressure mixing especially for Trimix. You are going to eventually go full CCR right? It is better to mix up a large quantity and boost your small bottles from their. Sticks are not accurate enough when you are trying to fill small CCR tanks. It is just far easi...

Not trying to hijack but someone in the thread that was linked above mentioned a rotor current...What is that? I have never heard of a rotor current before. Thanks The prevailing current is a south current. So when it stakes up on the north side of the jetty and the beach you get a huge rip current...

Re: weight loss and weighting

Jeff is this with OC or the Gem? With my GEM, I gave up OC and am switching to SCR and CCR. SCR and CCR is much more weight sensitive than OC. So if you loose or gain weight things are going to change. remember you have a sweet spot in loop volume that you want to try to stay in for the best WOB. E...

Re: Diving the OLD town of Vantage??

Hard to say what is down their. the current USGS maps do not show it. Best to get a hold of the USGS and get a hold of a pre 1960 map that shows the roads and town. May make a good scooter run and follow the road down. Better to know the layout first buy getting a hold of the old map.

Check and see who is doing the Fire Extinguisher Service for the company you work at. With most of them they will pick the tanks up at your work and take them for hydro and VIP if it fits their service techs schedule.
