Re: Octopus Hole For sale
No idea just noticed the signs when I drove by yesterday. I suspect they were put up in between the time I drove up to dive off Pac Adventure and the time I drove back. It also appeared the old Mikes Diving Center building has been clean up so perhaps it will be up for sale also. Can't find it on Zi...

Octopus Hole For sale
When driving back from Pac Adventures yesterday I saw Octopus Hole is for sale.
Wonder if we can raise some funds and have the Washington Scuba Alliance purchase it so its never closed to divers.

There is some great colorful critters to take pictures of at Netarts.

Re: Hello from Beaverton
Yes the easy diving with lots of critters is all in Hood Canal and Puget Sound. We do go to Netarts Bay, Barview Jetty and an charter out of Newport. The charter out of Newport is awesome but its advanced diving due to open ocean conditions. You also might be all set to go diving and get cancelled d...

Tide Help - Saltwater State Park 3/31/12
I need some advice on weather or not a couple dives in the morning of March 31st at Saltwater State Park would be good or bad. There are a couple slacks close together with a 1 kt current between them ... How bad would this be at this location? Its been too long since I dove that site and I want to ...

Awesome photos!
I would be interested to learn more about your camera setup.
They sure look like you use some very expensive gear .. if you are getting shots like this with regular gear I would certainly love to hear some tips

When I was there Town Pier was closed due to the cruise ships that were stopping by later in the week.
So I think its pretty much a perma-close.

Re: First cold water dive Battle Ground lake.
Hey Jared, Lake Merwin or Yale Lake are someplace to dive locally to the PDX/VAN area if you can't get up north. The water there is a lot cleaner then Battleground lake. The line to follow in Lake Merwin is at least something to do http://www.planyourdive.com/map/sites/629/Speelyai%20Bay%20-%20Lake%...

Re: Blue Magpie Newport Oregon
Aaron Gifford commented to me on Facebook he recently went out there and dove this area and would put together some of his awesome video work about it.
That video above is way old -- 1989? and that's really interesting the USIA guy is in it (I am kinda a local diving history buff)

Sat Dec 17th
I am terrible at estimating viz but at Octopus Hole in the Canal -- You could see the sun glowing thru the surface from the top of the wall. So it was really really good.
Verticle viz seemed better then horizontal viz but it was considered an epic dive

Re: Titlow - Or Bust!
I am far from an expert on the tides and currents but I do know Titlow is a dive site subject to the currents. From looking at the charts over at http://www.planyourdive.com I am not sure its the best weekend to visit Titlow. Seems like there is going to be quite an current going on. If I am reading...

Re: I got Hit HARD .... LMJ
I noticed the more I got stung the less it hurt.....
But then I decided to stop putting my face into the jellyfish tentacles which was a much better idea
When its on your skin scrapping it off with a credit card seems to help a bit.
Can't really do that when its inside your lips.

Re: advice for dry suit newby
+1 on the class
I think I did my class for the suit 3 or 4 months after I got it.
Its always a benefit to go out with an instructor who is an expert in a subject because you will learn something and it will help you to be a better diver.
