Re: Sund Rock in the Cold 1/2/16

I wonder if there are a couple juveniles at Sund Rock ....
We saw one a few weeks ago on the wreck but maybe it got chased off from people looking for it.

Yes still around. I went when I lived closer to N Portland. They meet in N Portland about once a month and have a series of club dives thru out the year. While they would love to have new people come to their club meetings.... unless you know someone who can help you find them its difficult. I see t...

I get paid a little bit at my shop for DM and AI work -- Its paid per student. I also get paid for conducting DSDs and Scuba review sessions. Getting rich? nope but helping to cover the costs. I can fill my own tanks and Nitrox (since I took the gas blender class) Shop provides a discount on all gea...

Re: New Member Wants to Dive in Tillamook Area in Sept or sooner! What is closest diving Charter and boat on OR Coast to

Someday the dive shop down in Newport/Depo Bay might have a charter boat but I doubt they will be doing weekday trips. Just not enough divers -- can't even get a dedicated weekend boat in the area :( I think you would need to look into doing some shore dives -- Netarts Bay, Barview Jetty or the Newp...

I don't get to 3 Tree much.

Can someone note on this picture from Google Earth where this new sign is?
Where the blue dot is?

Are the cars shown in this picture legally parked?

Re: How much have you spent so far?

but why should I avoid split fins? I was told split fins are actually better I would dive both and then pick the one you want to use. Sometimes divers and gear are a little bit too over zealous on what others should use or not use. While I dive paddle type of fins and like them -- One of my buddies...

This is a cool analyzer
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/16 ... cuba-diver

I am a gas mixer for a dive shop and there is no excuse for having an analyzer that is 4% off.
We use a couple separate analyzers on the tanks and if they are all not within 1% we look into whats up.

We don't roll or shake the tanks to mix the gas

Always cool to see something new! Frank at Sunrise motel was mentioning to me he had reports of different fish being seen then usual out front of his resort. While I won't be an alarmist that is what he was saying. Hopefully something bad isn't happening that is making the fish move around. We ran i...

You can move the strap one slot closer.
I did that to my 2XL Hollis fins and they worked perfect I felt the regular XL size was a little too tight.

I hope the paddlers can raise the alarm.

Dive show/H2O show in Seattle/Tacoma

Last year the H2O show was.......not good (From what I hear I didn't go sounded like it was tiny) Do you think this year will be better? I don't know why we have to have such a poorly run show in this part of the country. Now maybe we can't match the Scuba Show in Long Beach in terms of numbers but ...
