Re: Info On Neah Bay
Come on!!! Would be great to have you join us again. I already have several "for sures" and a few "maybes". We can dive 4 out of the boat. But if I get a bigger following, I am not opposed to making "shuttle runs" to dive. Most everyhting looks like it is only a few mil...

Re: I got totally loopey narc'ed!!
I tend to notice it most at different depths when I am trying to navigate. I will look at the heading on my compass for a few seconds, then take what seems forever to figure out the recip heading. It usually ends up being way off, OR I will eventually say screw it, who cares which way I am heading. ...

Re: Info On Neah Bay
Scott, Good to see you are in! I want to go ASAP, BUT I am going to Reno Apr 19th thru 25th for a conference. Then a week after I get back, I am off to Rongelop Atoll for a week long fishing trip. :boucegreen: I get back from that around May 15th. I am game anytime after that. I have checked out the...

Re: Onamac Reef !!!!! 4/5/2009
No speedbumps on the day, cept our little northern distraction. I think I-5 has that effect. I was going snowboarding once at Stevens Pass. Coming from the north, you need to take exit 194. I was shooting the breeze with my buddy and got all the way down to exit 187 before I realized I had totally ...

Re: Onamac Reef !!!!! 4/5/2009
Awesome report Chris. It was my pleasure. Donna had a great time too. Couldn't have asked for a beter day or better dives! Offer stands... you want to dive the North end, just give my arm a little twist. I can have the boat in the water in less than an hour. Of course after seeing that light of your...

Re: Info On Neah Bay
First of all - Neah Bay has some awesome diving! I was fortunate enough to dive up there last fall. I'm pretty sure the only place worth staying and the only place to get fills is Curly's Resort (the term "resort" is used loosely here, this place is not 5-star). The fog socked us in most ...

Info On Neah Bay
With the weather finally turning nice, I am looking to get out to Neah Bay to hunt for some tasty, tasty rockfish. It's a shame I have to go that far, but it is what it is. I have never been there and if anyone has info on good dive sites, dive shops for tank refills, boat launches, lodging (camping...

Re: Sat Apr 4 Deception Pass and Sares Head
The net appeared to be hung on the main rock face. We had a southernly current. So as far as I know, we started at Sares and drifted south. There was another dive boat there (Jan was on it), they were about 50 yards north of us.

Re: Sat Apr 4 Deception Pass and Sares Head
Cool report! Any chance you'll try to hit the cave again? I didn't know we had caves here. Ohh yes, I will be going back. Not sure how far in it goes, but it was far enough that one of those fancy $1,200, brighter than the sun, canister lights couldn't light up the back wall. I also want to take my...

Sat Apr 4 Deception Pass and Sares Head
Was supposed to do a shore dive at Deception Pass today, but Momma volunteered to drive the boat, so Deception Pass turned into a boat dive. Took 3 others to pass island and scouted it out while we waited for the current to drop below a knot. Decided around 1115 that is was time to get wet. We dropp...

Re: Anyone Diving Sunday?...
I am free all day tomorrow. Tides don't look like they will be much of an issue for us. It is easiest for me if you can hop in the boat at the marina on Whidbey just outside the seaplane base. That save me about 14 miles worth of running on the boat to go to Camano Island State park. No big deal if ...

Re: Anyone Diving Sunday?...
Norris, I only have 1 other on my boat for the Camano dive Sunday. You are welcome to come along with H20 (if he will have you) :-) That would make 4 total. Perfect for 2 out 2 in (if needed). I think there is also a "Camano wall" further south on the island that I would not be opposed to ...

No kidding. They are out there. I just had my head up my a$* a little too long and didn't act quickly enough. Is there an icon for that? Should be.dsteding wrote:Ah, that is a shame--I was all excited for you. How often do such opportunities come up?

Naaa, just a single Yamaha 250 Fuel Injected. I can run it at 40 knots on a calm day with the engine trimmed all the way up.. not that theres ever a need to do those kind of things.dsteding wrote:Twin 225 Mercuries?pensacolaracer wrote:25 foot Wellcraft sportfisher.

Re: Thoughts on filling ones own tanks
Well, It appears as if this conversation was purely academic. I just found out the unit was "disposed of" Ughhhh. It was actually brand new. The folks that had it, had 2, only needed one and turned the excess into DRMO... you military guys will know what this is. Somehow at DRMO, this unit...

Re: Thoughts on filling ones own tanks
I don't think I would want to get into all the storage aspects of larger tanks (and Bauer's website specifically states this compressor is not suitable for filling large storage tanks). It is however small and light enough that it could very easliy fit into my boat for the extended trips I am planni...
