Re: South Beach Scuba

Thanks Janna,

When I contacted them they said they may have charters set up by spring. It sounds like there is a lot of interest in diving offshore.

If we are talking health risk sitting on the sofa watching sports is an extreme health risk due to the inactivity and associated health problems.

I want to know who carries these masks in stock so I can try one on. I like the idea but want to know the mask fits me.

Tragedy in Tillamook

Very little information but a tragedy non the less. I am sure we can all learn lessons as more information comes out. By Associated Press TILLAMOOK, Ore. (AP) — The US Coast Guard says a man diving alone in Tillamook Bay has been found dead. Petty Officer Kelly Parker said the man apparently was usi...

Re: Newport Dive shop and diving

I know a coastie at Garibaldi who dives there all the time. I have yet to dive with him but if he is not on duty I am sure he will dive with us or at the very least we should be able to get a detailed dive briefing from him. I also know someone who dives Netarts crabbing frequently.

Blackwater and I are talking about diving the sound on Feb 16th but I don’t see why a day trip to the coast on the 15th wouldn’t work also.

Re: Newport Dive shop and diving

I was thinking in spring or early summer when the visibility gets bad in the sound. I have heard that offshore may not have the same algae bloom problems. At least waiting until the shop has the dive charter thing worked out. That doesn’t mean we can’t just hop over the coast range to Garibaldi area...

Newport Dive shop and diving

I emailed the new dive shop in Newport Oregon. Howdy, We are really excited to have a dive shop at Newport again and we want to support our local coast dive shop. Some friends and I from Portland would be interested in diving at the Central Oregon Coast. The only place I have dove is the fingers an...

Re: What are your big dive plans for the long weekend?

Thanks Bob, We only have two tanks apiece so we are planning two day dives, go eat and fill tanks, then back for a night dive. One of our divers is new so we are not planning to do anything extreme. We just want to keep him close keep an eye on him and get him some more water time. Salty's is out of...

Re: What are your big dive plans for the long weekend?

Friday - night drive to Seattle. Saturday - do three dives at Redondo or TTN (never been to eather but the Redondo map looks self explanatory) Sunday – two dives in or north of Seattle area then drive home. It figures the weekend I pick to drive north and dive Grateful Diver comes south to give what...

Hood Canal, Pinnacle and Black Point 01/04

I dove with Pacific Adventures yesterday. Don and Mike ran a great boat as always. We started at the Panicle with a 3ft swell and a northerly surface wind current. The visibility was 20 to 30ft. Lots of lingcod sitting on eggs and the usual wolf eels and GPO’s. Getting back on the boat was a bit tri...

Re: anyone ever dive the columbia?

Kat, Don't dive under the floating home. The floating home marinas, regular marinas, piers, and wing dams are some of the most dangers places to dive on the river for a variety of reasons. Ask your instructor in class about diving in the river and particularly around marinas. Come on out to the meet...

Re: anyone ever dive the columbia?

Hi Kat,

I have dove the Columbia in the Portland area. As Airsix says it would help to define local. Now is certainly not the time to dive the lower river do to run off causing poor visibility and other complicating factors due to high water levels i.e. fast currents, floating log and other debris.

It is a notice that the alley in the 700 block between front and first streets in Mukilteo is being vacated and returned to the fee title holder which is most likely the adjacent property owner unless the municipality took the alley in fee title when the alley was dedicated. Yes I know to much infor...

Re: Sudafed and diving

In the old days at Divers Institute of Technology our instructors (Old Navy and Commercial Divers) claimed Sudafed was the only decongestant tested at pressure. I have a feeling those test were personal test. That being said there is always the risk of a reverse block. Another point is that recreati...
