Re: Hollis H160 - My Impression
The visibility at the cars was pretty good. I would say probably 70 to 80 feet. Ambient light was even at the Steele car. Water temp at 200' was 45 and at around 70 it warmed up to about 50. Conditions are good. Way better than the weather.

Re: Hollis H160 - My Impression
We almost had it looking like Dan's cuda. But decided we needed to work on the mounting system a bit more along with mounting the lights. ANd then we decided to make it look and act like a gavin. Amazingly enough the gavin now looks and acts like a cuda. Now if I could just remember how to switch th...

Re: Annapolis needs some help ... April 24
I can confirm there is maybe 2 crabs and anemoe where they plan to sink her. It was the most boring nothing to see video I have ever taken or watched. No reef, extremely little life. I hope the Annaplois folks win. It will be a very cool wreck to dive.

Re: Dive Rite 10w Can light
On my dive right 10w I nothing but problems with those cheap 12vlt connectors. Go to the hoppy shop and buy a set of Deans Plugs. They have a very small foot print and have the best connections out of all the connectors out. Even better than the Anderson connectors. You light issues should go away.

The new Cove II ferry dock
Here \'s a picture (hopefully) of the new passenger ferry being built at Cove II. Looks like it should open up Cove II some. The new dock does not stick out as far as the old one and the ferry can come straight in and pull straight out. For something that has no business being there it is nicer than...

Re: Santi Suits
I have the custom eSpace suit and I have 3 dives on it. I upgraded from a dui tls350. The Santi fit was perfect including the 440g undergarment. THe construction of the suit is far better than the DUI suit. Alls it takes is one look at the seams and you can see the difference. So no complaints.

New Santi Drysuit
I have received my new custom made Santi ESpace drysuit and 400 gram Thinsulate undergarment. The suit and undergarment rock. The fit is near perfect for both the suit and undergarment. The construction of the suit is top notch. Just comparing the seams between the Santi suit and my TLS350 the Santi...

Re: Can I play?
No problem. I saw you height and weight and this suit was designed for that build. I hope the economy turns for the better for you. There are several members that live in Oregon and travel up here frequently to dive in the Puget Sound. Maybe you can hook up with some of them and car pool up. If you ...

Re: Can I play?
Hi Beefcake, Welcome to the club. It's a great place to find dive related information and more importantly dive buddies. There are several here from Oregon. I have a SeaSoft drysuit that would fit you perfectly. It is a compressed neoprene suit. I just had all the seals replaced on it. It also has h...

Re: another exquisite dive at the 'Dond ...
Thanks for the evening Lumpie dive and the pre lumpie scooter dive. I got some great video of the little buggers swimming. I also noticed that a couple of the shots show the psl to blend in perfectly with their surroundings. Are they able to change their colors? The photo of the redish one on the ro...

I have many accesories for a Sealife Camera. Wide angle lense, 2 zoom lense with measuring arm, a digital strobe and regular strobe. All the mountings and a 3.3 megapixel camera. I'll make you a good deal on all this stuff.
PM me if interested.

Looks like we have some good tide exchanges during the night. Hopefully it's enough to flush out Elliot bay. I certainly would not be eating anything from this part of the sound. Yuk!

If you are talking an outboard motor. Lots of heat and a rubber mallet. Propane is best. Anything more you run the risk of melting aluminum.
Good Luck. They can be a bear.

Re: Boat question
Kevin,
Boats are selling pretty cheap these day. The best advice I can give is have the boat and engine surveyed by a marine surveyor. It's worth the $300 or $400 to have it done. Good luck

I would say
"fix your gear after a dive and not before a dive"
and
"bring your A game to the dive"

Re: Semi Dry vs Dry
Congradulations on getting certified. You picked the right time of year to do it. The water is at it warmest. The temperature will drop about 10 degrees from its current temp. You will feel every 1 degree drop in temperature. Especially in a wet or semi wet suit. Go dry you won't regret it.
