Mike Nelson used a oral inert gas absorber in 1959. (about 14:30) Surprised even Leonard Nemoy who knows how to do that split finger thing.

Greg, This is what you need to get your wife. She won't inhale any water, will have great visibility, and it's a great conversation piece: http://www.tribord.com/en/brand/innovation/easybreath-snorkeling-mask Wow, that's one of those products that I wish I had thought of. Looks awesome. As far as t...

Do you already own a point and shoot camera? If so, wouldn't it be 'cheaper' to just get a housing?

Use a steak knife with the tip broken off as a knife, costs about a dollar. You don't need a big shark sticker lol Best dive knives I've found. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/96342700/ I can rip through 2" webbing with two cuts or so. And if (when) it gets lost, I have a few more i...

Re: 1st Stage Reg Question
I totally agree with Fritz, the key to what he is saying though, is to make sure you use an IP guage. Without a guage, you're just guessing. Also, I like to cycle my regs with several breaths in order to get a good sense of what's going on. I've found that the IP on most balanced 1st stages will be ...

I'm new to the Gopro world as well, but so far I really enjoy it. Some people have said the viewing screen is a good adition, but others have said they prefer to edit the finished product anyway, so why bother. Mine is a 3+ and takes great photos/videos at a distance greater 2 ft. it doesn't like ma...

Dude,
That red rock crab has a big brother and I heard he's looking for you. If I were you, I'd go to the library for recess.

Heh, pretty cool... Could have been fun coming up out of hte water with a fish or an octo or something, along with the shotgun :-) There were two pinpoint gunnels living in the barrel when I flushed it out on the dock. Both made ti back into the harbor unscathed. And Norris - LOTS of pots in the ha...

Shotgun recovery
I figured I post this since even though the video is a bit rough(to say the least). I was called out to recover a shotgun a couple weeks ago by a friend, whose friend from the knitting club's husband, dropped his shotgun in the harbor after a duck trip. I have a lot to learn about video editting, bu...

any news on whats down there? I'm trying to not get too excited becuase there's a good chance it's just a bloody big rock. Amazon has a decent coloring book that could be used for high school or undergrads. I enjoy reading it, but it's a little too much for my 4 and 5 year old. An advanced 6 year old might like it depending on how patient he is. http://www.amazon.com/Marine-Biology-Coloring-Second-Edition/dp/006273718X/...
