Amron drygloves
So I have decided to go dry, and of all the drygloves I have looked at, the absolute simplest I have seen is these amron seals. Any of you had experience with these, and would offer an opinion? I would sure appreciate hearing the voice of experience.

Re: Tide and Current Prediction app review (Android)
I haven't tried that one, but recently installed Tide Prediction on my android. It works like the old tide tool did in that it lives on your device, you do not need a wireless connection to use it. It is better than the old tide tool in that you can scroll through the days quickly one at a time with...

My backup light was the first one I could think where it was. Used that to find the C4LED, which is pretty much home emergency lighting anymore. We lose our power 3-4 times a year.

Wow. +1 on this one. It is my most used diving book.boydski wrote:
Steve and his buddy (Far) would often sit on the bottom at the dive sites and watch the particles in the water go past their masks, timing the current until the direction of the particles reversed.

It was a good question. A lot of good information was passed. I hope the OP can use it to attain his goals, and not feel attacked, cause I think a lot of points were brought up that are hard for a person getting started in this to see. I hope no ones feelers were hurt.

I haven't had the pleasure of diving this site, but Fischnallers book says minimum current should be 56 minutes before slack before flood at the narrows, so 90 minutes should be pretty close, maybe a tad early.

If I only had a stowable light, that would be the only reason I didn't have a light on 100% of the time. Aside from the communication aspect, it is amazing how much life you find in cavities, inside old clamshells, inside pipes, that you would never even know was there unless you passed a light over...

I was assuming this was the clear lake in Oregon. My wife and I went there one time and couldn't find the road due to the snow. It is definitely on the list. It's cool you looked up at the right moment.

How was the access? Can you drive to the lake? I'm shivering thinking about it, but that is incredible visibility.

Re: Thoughts on filling ones own tanks
Congratulations on your fill station. It seems like a good investment if you are dealing with mixed gases. I also purchased a small compressor like the original one mentioned in this thread. The nearest dive shop to me is 55 miles in the wrong direction. I got a bauer utilus 10, but I have to admit ...

Re: Putting OW students in drysuits
I had a similar experience to a lot of you. I started in a wetsuit, in the winter. My wife instantly decided to get a drysuit, and I decided to wait, one drysuit was enough of a hit on our budget. She received some pretty horrible drysuit instruction, and struggled with her drysuit. I on the other h...

They could be decorating someones (non diver) party room. I mean, fins with the mud flap girl on them are pretty unique. Maybe I just need to conjure up an image that did not include on of my potential buddies ripping one of us off. Sorry this happened to you.

One thing. Don't work with molten lead anywhere water can get to your mold, as in in the snow or rain. If you pour molten lead onto water, it will likely explode out of the mold. Molten metal at a minimum of 625 degrees F. is not good for your complexion. Also don't get it too hot. Melting it is fin...

I have a tank sitting in my garage that could work for you too. It has an old (not working) gast compressor on it, I think it is 40 gal., already has drain etc. If you have the room.

Why not go to a dive shop and get one of the valves they have laying around, cut it off and tap it for 1/2" NPT?

Re: Am I tightening my shoulder straps too much?
I think you probably hit the nail with the too tight straps, I would be surprised if it had anything to do with suit squeeze. A lot of people adjust their straps way too tight, making it difficult to get in and out of your rig. It should be EASY to slip your hand under your shoulder strap with the w...
