What an awesome day! Thanks to everyone for all their efforts! Big buddies, little buddies, I'm just here buddies, I'm not even diving but I wanted to say hi buddies, cooks, people who brought food, people who ate food, people who helped set up, and people who helped break every thing down and pack ...

Good point! If you are a little buddy, please come as close to 9 as possible. This is pretty informal, but I would like some time for everyone to talk about their skills, ability and whatnot with either myself or Doug so that we can get you sorted with the appropriate big buddy. This is especially t...

Afterthoughts: We'll be in a dark green Ford Windstar with Idaho plates. The plates make us pretty easy to spot. What's the "little buddy" "big buddy" thing? Pardon the newbie ignorance... It's sort of a sexual "master-slave" kind of paradigm, I think. Awesome! This su...

Re: Hello from the south!
Wow, I can practically feel the humidity oozing out of the photos! I never thought I would miss the heat and humidity when I left the south, but I do sometimes. I go home to visit and sit out on the front porch in the middle of the afternoon, and my mom thinks I'm crazy. It's got to be way worse whe...

Re: Whidbey Island Critters
And that is what I thought when I took the photos. But when I saw on the computer screen all the cirri above eyes and snout, according to my book, I think it is Cabezon. I would rather have Red Irish Lord, since they are not common at all on my usual Whidbey sites and I have only few pictures of th...

Coming up with fresh ways to justify spending vast amounts of time and money on diving to my wife. Not having to do this is one of the advantages to being single. :) I am also trying to perfect my back kick, it only happens (reasonably) well about 80% of the time, the rest of the time I just look s...

Beautiful, well-built, surprisingly heavy, and everything was working smoothly. He promised he would hang on to it this tim...

Re: Some nice tritonias
I've seen several pink tritonias at cove 2 as well, including a monster sized one at the I-beams. It was enormous! I've been seeing a lot of diamonbacks along the boundary line too....I guess that's what happened to the field of baby sea pens that sprouted up there last year.

Re: Can anyone help this guy?
I was there for a fun dive and support in whatever capacity, so I will let one of the search divers tell the whole story. The short story is that they found the rod right where it was lost....the reel was gone. I guess someone heard the story and went looking for that expensive reel that still belon...
