Re: Watch your gear at Cove 2
I guess the basic rule hasn't changed in years: keep eyes on your stuff at all times if you want to keep it. Stuff does go missing. Even deco bottles at 20-30 feet under, on the line!

Re: CCR Experience?
I just did The Knot (I think I'm allowed to call it that now) for the first time over the weekend. There was some hairy current, but i was under water for 5 hours (5 dives, one of them 11 minutes as my buddies got blown off the down line so I aborted.) I did bring 2 extra 3l RB bottles. It probably ...

Re: Could Have Been A Lot Worse
This happened to a buddy of mine on a dive and I've seen it on Youtube videos (where the cameraman is attacked for their reg.) This would be a really shitty way to die! It's easy to overlook reg testing if you dive a lot or hardly at all. I can't say I check mouthpieces enough. Thanks! Move to a nec...

Re: Bubbles from my SPG spool.
You can usonic clean them too if you don't have a spare spool. Sometimes the SPG and/or HP hose leaks are really irritating. Probably a better solution to have spares than slather with o2 lube and reassemble

Re: Any Females using the HOG fin?
Doesn't it really depend on what kind of boot she has? I would guess large too. I'd be worried anything smaller would not give her enough thrust with a cold water kit.

Found: Weight pouch. Cove 2. Earlier tonight.
Hi kids. I found a weight pouch at Cove 2 around 7pm this evening.
Shoot me a message with a rough description (pic of the matching pouch would be the best) and we'll get you reunited.

Re: Staying Warm!!!
Order of things to add or upgrade by cost and convenience, IMHO :) All of which make a noticeable difference: - Thick, warm socks or thinsulate type booties - Technical base layer I enjoy medium and extra warm REI and Patagonia poly type stuff - Thicker, better fitting hood, newer, with smallest sen...

Welcome to the board! Sorry about the fin :(
I have a set of Atomic split fins (XL I think) that I've been meaning to get rid of for cheap for a long time. Sadly they are the wrong color (blue).

Taking a pic of contact info was discussed after the camera was gone We're not sure on the buoyancy... I've had one of these and it depended on the depth. Probably negative at 50-65ft.

Lost Sea Life - W Seattle Fishing Reef
A friend of mine (new, excited, good diver) sadly somehow lost her Sea Life camera Saturday morning on the West Seattle Fishing Reef: 2014-09-13 ~10-11 AM. She loves diving but is a starving marine biologist and it's a big bummer. If you hear anything please advise! Thanks!!!

Re: Viz Reports Thread
A little late but fairly recent:
7/5, 1300 - 1400
Rosario Head, Northwest Island
5-10 foot viz from surface to 147 FSW.
7/7, 11:30 - 12:30
Mukilteo T-Dock, Oil Dock
Pea soup down to about 30 FSW, opening up to 10-15 viz 50-100 FSW.
Seems like EPIC VIZ is gone  Stupid sun!

Re: apeks low profile dump valve.
Hmm, somehow I have 4 drysuits... 2 x apeks reg profile, 1 apeks low profile, 1 sci-tec. They are all fine but I like the low profile the best. It has the lowest profile and actually operates the best (dumps more than enough in fact I dial it back a 1/4 turn.)

That's awesome that you found it. Isn't some loc-tite prescribed for keeping that thing on? You would think that the torque would tighten that bolt, not loosen in :(
