...(friends tell me they were quite abundant in certain places up until about the mid eighties) I was told that as well. Just south of the Hood Canal Bridge was a hot spot. ....Do y'all get the sense that these fishies might be back "in town" to some degree? Not sure but I can tell you th...

Re: What kinda fish is this?!?!?
Last Sunday I did a fun dive off "Down Time" at Rosies Ravine. After skirting the top of the deep wall I started a zig-zag pattern up slope. At ~80ft, I came across this guy. Like Janna, I have seen what I believe to be Juveniles, but I have never seen an adult until now. http://w...

Re: Looking for Cash
Hi Georgia,
I received an email from Margaret who dove with him at Cove 2 last evening and passed his email off to her. I haven't heard from him in a while so hopefully it's still good.

Re: Point Wilson Reef
I did dive at Point Wilson once about 15 years ago and that was enough muck diving for me. Dale, you may be thinking of the artifical reef located off the kitchen shelter. Believe me, Point Wilson Reef is far from muck. I remember diving years ago off a buddy's boat at Colvos Rock in Mats Mats when...

...I think that the Western access I described is potentially a safer place to be than the beach at the state park if you don't completely understand the currents or have a breakdown. I have seen the standing waves that form off Pt. Wilson when the current gets running and wouldn't want to end up i...

Point Wilson Reef
My dive day sort of fell apart so it was time to make lemonade. I was reading another thread and someone had mentioned Point Wilson Reef (H2ODoc?). It had been a while since I visited it so I headed that way. Thanks H2O for motivating me! With the winds out of the South the shoreline is very protect...

Vis @ Point Hudson today - Horizontal 10 opening up to 15 in places.
Dusty, everytime I encounter your friends they are a little larger.
Too bad they probably won't stick around as adults. A little fun with paint

For Sale - Women's Dry Suit & Weezle Extreme
My better half has not dove in the cold water in over a year and recently decided that she is definitely just a warm water diver. Needless to say, she wants to sell her dry suit. If it fit me, I would keep it as a backup but that means I would have to shrink and shed ~50lbs. Not gonna happen! So I f...

Hi Richard.
Are you referring to this spot? If so, that's Sponge Hill

Poaching Ling in the Hood Canal - Really!!!?
While diving Hood Canal Friday I came across a couple Ling Cod carcass's. Seemed a little unusual to me so I took a closer look at one of them. It was fresh, probably less than a week old. IMHO the carcass was consistent with a recreational harvest. Based off an incident I was told before my dive(s)...

Pure dumb luck Kelly and a simple case of "right-place-right-time". That said, by all means, let's go dive! No promises on out of the ordinary critters though.ktb wrote:....we need to dive together and you need to show me some of this cool stuff you've been seeing!!

I would like to tell you that it was THIS BIG (stretching arms as far apart as I can), but it was just a little guy. If I had to guess, I would say somewhere in the 1.5 to 2ft range.Blaiz wrote:....The one in the video would you guess it was about three to four feet long?

Mola Mola - Point Hudson
I read the post by Ron and James about all the critters and good vis off Hudson (Very nice pic's by the way! :thumb3d: ) so I finished my Friday chores early and decided to hit the afternoon slack. Man was I glad I did. Not only was the vis great but the critters were out. However, I spent most of m...

I'm not much of a Nudi person but I think I found one of those guys yesterday while diving Point Hudson. It caught my eye so I took a quick pic. It was ~2" in length. Very pretty animals.

Hey there Dusty. I found your Octo's today. They were tucked away in their dens. No WWF (World Wrestling Federation) repeat today. Those are two big bruisers. What I did find is what I think is true Octo love. Down the line at the logs......

Found these guys at Ed's Fault in Disco Bay today. Sorry for the crappy video, I really need a new camera. If you look really close, you will see the head of a small Tiger Rockfish at the bottom then a Red Brotula appears from the top. The Red Brotula heads down to check out the Tiger and decides th...
