Where is that in relation to Redondo? North or South? I'm almost desperate enough to take you up on it, and make it a two-day trip...

Anyone wanna get wet this weekend?

I do! An unfortunate string of events has kept me out of the water for over a month now, and I'm dying to get in again! I've got Friday/Saturday off, and I'm up north in the San Juans, but not opposed to travelling. In fact, getting off this island would do me good... I've got no sites in mind, I've...

Re: You gave me a heat pack Saturday: reporting how it worked!

So, I dive wet...and something I'm experimenting a bit with are these things called SnapHeat packs...they're little gel packs that have a button that can be snapped to "activate" them and they crystallize and release heat. When you're done, they can then be boiled and re-charged for use ov...

Re: Saturday club dive

I'm glad I came down for the weekend, thanks again to everyone who helped with this and to everyone also for being so welcoming to me :) I had a bit of a rough start yesterday morning, as I looked at the spring ferry schedule...which starts *today* #-o So my morning began with two hours of waiting a...

Re: Club Dive! Club Dive! Club Dive! March 28th

OK, I am coming, but will be stuck at camp all week so I will only have the opportunity to pick up something at the local grocery store. I suppose something like cookies, brownies, or the like. Something with chocolate, because I like chocolate. And maybe some soda. Unless something else is requeste...

Club dive weekend

Hey all, So I'm thinking of taking a full weekend and attending the club dive on the 28th, and then another event on the 29th in Tacoma. Since it's a bit of a drive for me from Orcas, and gas plus the ferry is costly, can anyone recommend a good place to stay in the area? Cheap is good, I'm an educa...

Re: BARE DEMO DAY !!!!

Thanks again Wally for running this! I came all the way down from Orcas Island to try out a drysuit (and do a few other miscellaneous things while in the area) and had a blast! It was a completely different experience, and though I was a little task-loaded, I enjoyed my first dive in the PNW ...

Re: Club Dive! Club Dive! Club Dive! March 28th

Hey so...I might try to stop by if you don't mind a newbie tagging along :boucegreen: ...I'm still not sure my schedule for that weekend though. Never been diving in the area (unless I get in a dive tomorrow), although I have logged just over 100 dives, mostly in cold water in WI. That would put me ...

Actually, my buddies back home joke that I have gills. I regularly came up with over 1000psi in my tank in the Bahamas when my buddy was coming up empty. :fish:

Thanks for the info, I may contact the shop to set something up...

Re: BARE DEMO DAY !!!!

I'm intrigued. However, I'm wondering about my reg. It should probably be serviced before I dive it (I borrowed it from a friend before driving out from WI), so will there be a way for me to rent/borrow one from someone? Even if I used mine, it wouldn't have a drysuit inflator hose - would that be s...

Re: 3/15/09 San Juans charter

I might possibly be interested if you go out - I'm on Orcas, so Friday Harbour wouldn't be a problem, so long as I can get on an early ferry. I say possibly because I should probably get the reg I have serviced before I dive it - I borrowed it from someone and haven't tried it out or had it serviced...

Hey! Soooo...I'm here! I've been mulling things over in my head, and I'm working on a place to keep my car in Anacortes so that I can be mobile...though I think I've found some buddies at camp who have been diving around here and could show me places on the island too. If you have any suggestions th...

Re: You know you're a scuba geek when...

LOL...nice. I had a similar experience at work this past year. I worked in a coffee shop for nearly 5 years, and we had these travel mugs with O-rings that were flat instead of round, and prone to leaking at the seal. Of course, when I tried to explain it to my co-workers they all thought I was craz...

Re: Diver from WI seeking buddy this week!

Well, I just got here this morning and driving in the Seattle area makes me crazy since I'm not familiar with the area. I'm willing to hop on a ferry myself though. I'm working at the YMCA camp on Orcas Island. As such, I'd probably not have a lot of, if any, free weekends, since I'll be working odd...

Diver from WI seeking buddy this week!

Hello divers! I had introduced myself a while back (http://www.nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6581) thinking I'd be around beginning March 5 or so. As it turns out, we made good time driving out here and we're here ahead of schedule!! I start training for my job the morning of March 5, after...

Re: Diver from WI visiting this spring

If you can dive in 34 degree water in a wetsuit, Puget Sound's going to seem tropical in comparison! Well...I said I did it...not that I did it *well*....but looking at water temps, I think I'd be OK for the occasional single dive in a wetsuit. No money for a drysuit right now, nor for the remainde...

Diver from WI visiting this spring

Hello all! My name is Elise, and I'll be out in WA for a temporary job that runs March-June. I'd love to get in some diving while I'm there, though I'm not sure how much free time I'll have. I'll be on Orcas Island working as a outdoor environmental educator for the YMCA of Seattle. A little about m...
