Re: New inexpensive HD video camera!

Very cool Laura :), you are making me feel so primitive :P. I wasn't even aware they had come out with a new case. Nice to see more options out there for people. I just picked up a Go Pro for a screaming deal, so I should be able to do some comparison footage between it and the Contour soon. Wish Go...

Silfa, Iceland Dive Video

I came across this video of crystal clear diving in Iceland, I thought people might enjoy it. It looks like the rift is right along the continental plates of North American and Europe, so at some points you can be touching both continents at once. http://geoguides.tv/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/mlu_s...

Re: Seainggreen Year In Review

Fantastic video, thanks for sharing :) Feels like we dove a some of the same places this year. Much of the sea life reminded me of trips to the Caribbean, The Channel Islands, and of course around the Northwest and Canada. Not sure how you created that video in 8 hours, it usually takes me that long...

Re: 2 Tank Dive Charter out of Newport this Saturday (4/30)

Epic day on the water, 40-45 foot vis and blue skies :O. Some of the best dives I've done on the coast, it felt like I was in the Channel Islands, but with more life :). I'll post a full trip report with my video once I get a chance to sift through and edit it all. Thanks to Justin for organizing it...

Re: 2 Tank Dive Charter out of Newport this Saturday (4/30)

I'll be real curious as to the ocean conditions for Saturday and how the boat ride is as the forecast looks to be rougher than what we had last week. Ron, yeah I think the ocean will be a bit rougher, we will be on a larger boat though (10 person capacity plus crew), so I hoping that will mellow th...

2 Tank Dive Charter out of Newport this Saturday (4/30)

I just signed up for a charter dive out of Newport this Saturday (4/30). Sounded like they have a few spaces left, so I thought I would pass the information along to the board. Commercial dive charter operations on the Oregon coast are pretty rare in my experience, so if people have been wanting to ...

Re: Anyone have DUI Electric Divewear details or impressions

I thought I would resurrect this thread and see if anyone had a chance to try out the DUI Electric Dive Wear at the Dive and Travel Expo. I'd love to hear some impressions. I'm especially interested in anyone has heard more details on a release date. My dive buddy is still pretty much on cold water ...

Re: Hornby Island trip video

Thanks everyone for the kind words :) so how was the stay on the wallet....was it worth the cost ? I think the total cost was $550 for the trip, that covered 4 boat dives and the potential for 2 extra night dives, plus 3 meals a day, rooms, and air. We carpooled up six of us in a minivan, so it mini...

Hornby Island trip video

At the end of March I had the chance to take a trip to Hornby Island, British Columbia for some diving. I had a great time and I can't say enough nice things about Rob and Amanda Zielinski from Hornby Island Diving. Their diving setup is very comfortable and homey, the proximity of the dive location...

I was there in December 2010 for a week. This video was shot then: http://vimeo.com/19023350 . Overall the weather was great. Water temps 86, air temp 85-90. We had two days where is rained, but in both cases it just rained in the morning and cleared off in the afternoon. The rain didn't effect our ...

Re: Warm Water

In a pinch you can just take a spare weight belt with a few extra pounds on it and thread it between your tank straps for an improvised cam band weight. That worked nicely on my last trip to Bonaire, a few pounds on each side of the tank was enough to get my trim sorted. You can put it up on the nec...

This video from DEMA has some nice information on the suit and the undergarments: Looks interesting. Sometimes Light Monkey can be pretty slow on responding to emails, but I have found if I call them during east coast business hours someone is always available (386-202-4690).

Looks like spatman already has you covered on the ordering source :).

I'd really like to make it out for this. Been meaning to get in on a club dive for quite a while and I dive at Sund Rock enough that it is pretty much home base :P If I can make it out I'll bring some Hot Chocolate, mini marshmallows, and my camp stove :).

I'm not sure, but I am assuming you are talking about Clear Lake in Oregon. They used to not plow the road in the winter time, so even if the lake wasn't frozen over it would be a real pain to hike your gear down from the road ( http://maps.google.com/maps?q=44.369284,-122.000706&num=1&t=h&a...

selkie, You are totally right, I forgot about that. Sounds like mounting them on the backplate waist strap might be the best option then. Anyone have DUI Electric Divewear details or impressions?

I was curious if anyone on the board had information on or impressions of the DUI Electric Dive Wear? My dive buddy is so obsessed with the possibility of heated dive undergarments that he is pretty much on dive boycott until we can get our hands on some. Before I turn in to a cyber diver I am hopin...
