Re: FFM
It is a great FFM. FFM's are great but you need to be aware of some drawbacks when using a FFM. Clearing your ears can be tough at times, in some cases no matter how much you tweak the mechanism it may not work due to your facial structure. If you should happen to have a failure or run out of air in...

Re: Travel Gas labeling and Counter Diffusion
Why are you using Decompression model: VPM - B + GFS/90 over plain VPM-B, they seem very similar? Is the GFS/90 based on most restrictive time /ceiling? I have a Shearwater and still use GF set at 10/90 most of the time so it seams to match up better using that as to what I will get on my CCR on a ...

Re: Silo Dive
yea it is a great dive lots of fun and neat stuff to see. The second silo they dive has a lot of organic matter and sediments in the water and sitting on everything so just a few bubbles and it dislodges and vis goes to hell fast compared to the other silo. did you have to squeeze around the gate or...

Try giving Tony a buzz at Puerto Rico Technical Diving in Augadilla Puerto Rico. It is still part of the US so cheap airfare and some great diving. The trench wall drifts are amazing to do and diving around De Mona is great. They are not just a full technical shop so dont get spooked buy the name. H...

Very interesting info, it would be good to get a solid grasp on how the CC thing works, so bare with me.. Can you elaborate on how its different with CC and OC with regards to the membranes getting plugged in your lungs part and how that affects us? As I understand respiratory and circulatory syste...

Re: Rebreather Divers Wanted..
Taking little detour here and Im by no means rb expert and I always understood hypercapnia to be worse on a rb due to work of breathing? Also curious about the co2 differentials being less in the lungs on a rb? Both rb and oc inspired gas is at ambient with a theoretical ppco2 of 0.0? Wouldn't that...

Re: Rebreather Divers Wanted..
the last question about breathing rate seemed kind of leading. I'm guessing everyone at one point or another has experienced an increased breathing rate regardless of how far down the scrubber has been burned ... that's pretty much a given if you exert yourself under water, especially working again...

Their is quite a bit of shore diving out their if you have a scooter. But their are still a few that you can dive without but most of them are a pretty good walk to get to the beach. PM me.

Re: Taking it out for the first time today.
Muck like Alki (coves) is not the best place to try and wight a scooter. too much fresh water in the area brackish on the surface. So it makes it hard to get thing totally dialed in not like being in Monterrey, CA as the vid is. So dont get disappointed if you cannot get it correct in the first few ...

Thanks for those PDF's. It's amazing that the modern Mares is Identical to the Voit of 40 years ago(2nd stage anyway) Regs have not changed much at all in basic design. just the coverings for the most part. Hope those will answer all your questions. I have some more Mares manuals so I may have your...

For me it reminds me of old friends one of whom if you were to ever get the chance to go to his widows house you will drive up a road lined with cannon that were pulled from in the Puget sound many years ago. when he opened the locker in the vid it reminded me of shops and basements I have been in w...

Re: IS there an AIR rebreather?
Interestingly enough, the last time I flew with one of the rebreathers, the TSA paged me and wanted me to prove the scrubber was empty. They don't seem to like the loose kitty litter for some reason, although it's relatively benign. I got hung up a San Diego for sorb in the rig and had to dump it. ...

What a way to cap your vacation on your last day of diving! Thats EXACTLY what I was thinking. It was a bad 45 minutes to an hour for me. I saw Everclear at a liquor store in Renton a few months ago. It was kept behind glass unlike most of the rest of the booze. I actually realized I need some the other day so I will see if my local Kirkland store can order it. I'm trying to make a lavender flavored syrup from lavender flowers... Man...
