Feeling lucky? Russian O2 rebreather on Craigslist

http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/spo/3893006133.html "Ida-71 russian Scuba rebreather $350.00 serious buyers only" I had to look this thing up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:IDA-71_with_lid_of_casing_opened_showing_interior_P5167777.JPG NOT MY AD, I just thought it was interesting......

Re: Pulsating soft corals

Pulsing xenia is a common soft coral in aquariums and it looks pretty incredible. I miss my reef tank a lot sometimes!

Re: Unholy odors

There is another enzymatic pet odor cleaning product called Petforce. Unlike Nature's Miracle, Petforce is super concentrated so your $30 gallon makes 8 gallons of juice. I'm a huge fan. If I had a stinky gear problem I'd definitely give it a try.

Re: Northwest Dive and Travel Show Photo Contest Ringer

If there is an interest in making it an amateur-only competition, a better ruleset might be denying entry to anyone who has ever won any prize in a list recognized events. Defining "pro" vs "amateur" makes pinning down the definition of "obscenity" look easy! Any way yo...

Thanks for the info, Scott, that's good to know. I'll hit up Waynne since we'll be back in his shop soon anyway but it's good to have a backup too!

Didn't even know I needed them until I was doing gear maintenance this weekend, and wanted instant gratification. :)

Re: LDS won't sell o-rings

Choosing not to sell o-rings for reasons of cost, I understand. I don't necessarily agree that it's the best decision, but if I was told, "sorry, don't have that" I'd respect the business decision and get over it. Being told, "we have it, and won't sell it to you" is a different ...

Re: LDS won't sell o-rings

Re http://www.amazonsupply.com/ -- HOLY CRAP THAT'S COOL! Even if they didn't want to sell me parts, they still could have handled it better. For example: "Well, if we sold the parts they'd be $5, but did you know you can just replace the entire inflator for $15? If your inflator is a few years...

Re: LDS won't sell o-rings

Thanks, Matt. Don't sweat it. I decided just to replace the power inflators instead of servicing them, they're pretty cheap and they don't last forever anyway. Appreciate it, though.

Testing the waters: Salvo 10W HID can light $275

I'm considering upgrading to a smaller, lighter, brighter can light, something that I can also pack for tropical travel. If I did this I'd sell my trusty Salvo 10W variable-focus can light. An easy local sale could make the difference for me, so if you might be interested please PM me. The light com...

Re: Anyone know whats up with Diving Concepts?

I am late to the thread. I just got news about DC from Waynne when we tried to get DC gloves for Jen. (I have a set, bought at Waynne's recommendation, and love them.) But then I started thinking... if the o-ring in the system is not a standard size, you'd be in a pickle if you needed a replacement....

Re: LDS won't sell o-rings

I miss NWSD... heck, I miss USW Kirkland. UWS will sell o-rings, but they told me that only the Seattle location actually has them sorted by size. That is an inconvenient trip and I am not in a hurry, so I'm off to Dive Gear Express where I am finding myself spending an extra $100 I didn't expect.

LDS won't sell o-rings

I just have to vent a little. My LDS won't sell o-rings "for liability reasons." Maybe if I had lied and said "camera" instead of "inflator" they would have, I don't know, but I didn't think I had to be crafty to purchase o-rings over the counter. So, instead of spendin...

Re: Go pro hero 3 black

Run it through the wringer ASAP so you can get an exchange or warranty service if you need it. I have the HD Hero 1 and the new Black... my Black doesn't crash in normal use (yet) but it does have irritating quirks. For example, when you plug it in to external power, most of the time it will lock up...

Re: Shooters

The Kenmore rifle range rules say that you can only load 1 round at a time. I always though that was just too strict to be enjoyable. It will also prevent you from really making sure the rifle operates as it should, some feed problems won't be apparent under those conditions. I don't think the pisto...

They matched price for me, but I am sure that they can't do that on everything they stock. It was fortunate that what I wanted was something they had flexibility on.

Obviously I like to support locals, but I can't throw money away, either!

Re: FS: Sea & Sea DX-2G, tray/arm, YS-01 TTL strobe $800

Yes, I was pretty pleased with that... and that was even without adding a lens. It really is a good kit and I only got a new rig because of a gear avalanche that started with the Canon S100 on Black Friday sale for $230. Next thing I know, I have a new case, and WA lens, and heck why not get a YS-D1...
