Keystone Jetty 10.23.2013
http://youtu.be/V06Vvab5W8M This is my first video using my "new to me" video light made by the one and only H2ODOCTOR! What a difference. Keystone had very little current the past few days, in the afternoon/evening and I could not let it go. I picked Thunder up at school and splashed int...

Re: SSI Dive Control Specialist completed!
Bravo! Looking back, what was the most challenging element to obtaining this? (I love asking this, it's different for everyone!) I would say the most challenging was also the most rewarding. To me it was the time commitment. We have 4 kids at home plus our business so, the time away from home was c...

Very helpful.
I still think it looks cool and I agree it could be a checkmark dive.

Re: Missile Silo Dive
I have thought about doing this dive but wondered if it got "boring" after awhile. Thoughts? Worth the money and drive time? In our house the deciding question is: "Would you do it again?" Great write up on your site. edit: Must make my fingers understand the difference between &...

Correct me if I'm wrong but....
doesn't the person with the least amount of dives have to clean all crab and fish harvested?
Welcome. Where are you based out of?

Ask and you will receive. That should be this boards motto. I appreciate all the tips and tricks that have been suggested. The best one (and I will paraphrase) "This is the Emerald Sea and green video is expected." I will look forward to seeing the results when I add a powerful light set u...

Re: Keystone currents
Just down the road is Driftwood Park, with a tire reef packed with life. Oh and right now it is probably a buzz bomb grave yard with all the fishing that has been going on. We dive Keystone a lot and have no problem diving the pilings or jetty in 1-1.5 knots of current. We typically use the line tha...

Wow! I've seen them out in the open, but never for that long, and never that interactive. I do have to say that there was a section of the video where I was thinking, "Wow, a back kick would have been awfully handy here!" (In my best Ed McMahon Voice) Yes! You are correct! There were time...

Re: Taking the green out
If you took at the green "out" there really wouldn't be very much light left. All of the red wavelengths are filtered out, they just aren't there. So to "fix" this you need to add light in the wavelengths you desire. Lots and lots of light since water sucks up light energy like ...

Taking the green out
Ok I have been working on videos and cannot seem to get the "green" out of the picture. I would like the water to look crisp, clean and blue. I'm sure this is a lighting issue but wasn't sure if there was software that could correct the color? I just upgraded from PowerDirector 10 to Power...

Keystone gave us the best dive ever!
The Sun was out, the water was calm, current was predicted to be good and I wasn't shopping for a Homecoming dresses with 4 high school girls. How much better can a Sunday afternoon get? After gearing up with my son, we walked down to the Pilings and descended. The plan was to drift down to the Jett...

Got the new laptop up and running. Funny it came with PowerDirector 10 and I can upgrade to 11 for around $80. So, I think that is what I will do.

Does anyone have any experience or comments regarding this video editing and movie producing software?
I have a new computer coming this next week and I needed to get new video software since my Apple iMovie won't work on a Windows PC.

First dive in Deception Pass is in the books
Finally decided to take the plunge into The Pass. I have driven over it twice a day for 11 years and shiver each time thinking back on my first experience, with the unpredictable waters, when my buddies small boat got caught in a whirlpool and the seat I was in, which was evidently not bolted down, ...

Re: Free workshop on regional dive sites
uhm...seems like a great talk for the newbies... However, you know as well as I that there are plenty of divers on these sites when the tides/currents allow... Kirsten Deception Pass is definitely not a "newbie site" and Skyline easily fits into the "Not A Newbie Dive" category,...

The hand mount can be choppy but if you pay attention it works just fine. Also it is way easier to handle than the current squeegee mount I have.

Re: GoPro mounting?
there are a lot of used go pros on Craigslist... I'm mounted my GoPro on helmet and dive it.. I've seen them mounted on sticks, and also on sticks behind you strapped to your tank.. What kind of helmet did you mount it on. I did not think of wearing a helmet for a dive. How were they mounted on the...
