Re: New Fins
I'm into photography so whatever is best to not silt up sounds great!! I've had my split fins since I started last year since that is what they sold me with my OW package. But I'm open to change. I think I will get the DiverBob one's as a back up set if they fit and hopefully try out some other new...

Hello Everyone! I hope you've all had some great dives lately! :eric: I just got home from a 6 day diving adventure in the Channel Islands on the Truth Aquatics Vision live aboard. It was so much fun! Spectacular viz and sea critters! :partydance: So many nice fish sea lions, lobsters, brittle star...

Mukilteo Drop of Death is back!
Someone has finally restored the line to the boat. There is a nice large barrel with a dive flag floating out there....even has a vid sticker on it.
Here is what it looks like: (thank you to whoever restored the line!)

While some of the 7 reasons listed in the original post are a stretch, if you step back and look at it dispassionately they make sense for the site. Thanks Norris for looking into this and making the response available here. Disagree. You could shut down Cove 2 to scooters using the same arguments.

Re: Diving with someone who has been banned...and for good reason!
What is that rock-like structure starting around 2:15? Haven't been there in ages but I don't remember ever seeing anything like that. I have no fricking clue, but I have the exact same questions! I've been calling it the "mystery reef". It's basically due west of the dry dock in 50-70fsw...

Diving with someone who has been banned...and for good reason!
Today I rolled the dice and decided to dive with someone who has been banned a lot, including from NWDC. As I put together my footage, it became very clear why he is a clear and present danger to scuba society. Reckless trim, can light on the left, upside down scootering....this is exactly why we ne...

I happen to be a member of the scuba police. Our mission is to make sure people are diving proper. If you have the wrong fins, or wear your compass on the right, or run deco the wrong way...you are a clear hazard to the diving community and I will pull you over. When I'm not telling people what gear...

Re: bottle fields?
A coworker broke a bottle I brought up this summer. Now I have an urge to find a few more, older, cooler bottles. I know of Redondo, Mukilteo, and port Townsend. Those are all pretty deep to spend any significant time searching. I have heard there is a field near keystone, but have no more info on ...

Re: San Juan Island shore dives?
Over the last weekend dwinslow1, coulterboy, Doug, Michael, and I spent some time time diving Fischnaller's San Juan dives. The truck was filled with 16 tanks and we set off at about 5:00AM Friday morning for San Juan Island. San Juan County Park: our first dive of the trip. The park was filled wit...

Re: San Juan Island shore dives?
What would be considered "good" conditions in terms of exchange of knots for Lime Kiln? I only did it once as a shore dive. We hit it at slack on a 2 ft exchange out of an abundance of caution. There was zero current durring our dive. As gearhead said....a very cool experience diving Lime...

Re: San Juan Island shore dives?
Does anyone know of any shore accessible/kayak accessible dive sites on San Juan Isand? I tried searching the internet but only came up with a few boat only dives. We have dove around Orcas Island many times and it seems hard to believe that there aren't any dives further west given the abundance o...

Re: Computer Settings
Well, figured Shearwater has a lot going for it since a lot of divers are using them or switching to them.
I do like my Xens...when they are working.
How do you do deco stops on a shearwater? Xen I just tap the side three times to start the timer
