Is old air really an issue?
So... I have 4 tanks (Al 80s) that have been sitting full in my garage for 2ish years. Any proven reason I shouldn't use them before I take them in to be inspected & refilled? I've heard people claim it isn't safe to breathe old "stale" air - is this really a thing? Or just one of thos...

Re: Search and recovery challenge - $700 reward!
We were at the west side of the second rock structure - I assume this is the start of what you call the "deep" reef? This forum appears to be cutting off the right half of my picture above with the map - sorry about that. Here is a direct link: http://www.cmjstealth.com/bloguploads/LostCam...

Re: Search and recovery challenge - $700 reward!
Still haven't heard any word from anyone so don't think it has been found. If anyone does find it would be great if they could retrieve the dive flag I left (both so others know it was found and so I can get it back :) ). I cross referenced my dive computer, my best guess of the currents at the time...

Dive Norrander's reef - $700 reward for lost camera!
Posted this in the general section but since it was actually such an awesome dive site I thought I'd include it here as well in case anyone is looking for a cool new local shore dive to explore. Camera drop location marked with dive my flag. http://www.nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=21730 I ...

Search and recovery challenge - $700 reward!
Looking for a search and recovery challenge at an amazing dive site close to Seattle (Bainbridge) within recreational limits? Long story short I lost my uw dslr camera rig today while diving Rockaway Beach (Norrander's Reef). Being slightly negatively buoyant it slowly sank from the surface in an ar...

Alkai beach cleanup event help wanted 7/27 (free food+wine)
A friend of mine is helping organize a beach cleanup at Alkai this Sat with food, etc related to the surfrider foundation. She asked if I might know a few divers that would be willing to join the festivities and help cleanup the underwater portion. I will reach out and share all the details dependin...

Re: If I wanted to dive Deception Pass on Wednesday...
If you know someone with a last minute boat in the area (thus avoiding the misery of packing gear to the site) I might be able to dive Wednesday. Good chance I'd have a third person too.

Seacrest underwater harvest protection
Starting this new thread to hopefully separate the discussion around getting legal protection for the Seacrest dive sites. This is NOT the thread for reiterating our love of GPOs or for voicing outrage over Dylan Mayer’s actions on Wednesday (please use http://www.nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&am...

Re: Dive and BBQ with GUE-Seattle at Keystone, 8/25
Wow, that is easily the coolest picture taken of me underwater… ever. Thanks for posting! We thought we were getting in the way of your shot so we kept going; if we knew that was your objective we surely would have hung around longer! BTW: If anyone found the pair of neoprene gloves and hood being w...

Re: Dive and BBQ with GUE-Seattle at Keystone, 8/25
Going to try to make it if I can. Eliseaboo introduced the keystone site to me in February and it was awesome. My video masterpiece is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZE89yLlLKE if it helps excite others :partydance: Anyone want to dive Sunday also just a little farther north? I have a empty fami...

Anacortes / San Juan islands area boat dive Sun 8/26
I'm thinking about doing Saturday's Keystone dive (http://www.nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php?t=18601) with the awesome GUE folks and then spending the night in Anacortes so I can boat dive the San Juans islands / fidalgo island area on Sunday. Be fun to have more people so I'm posting on behalf on Bru...

Mind if I drop by? I'm kind of excited about trying a proof of concept of my underwater image map idea: http://www.nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=17818&p=206841#p206830 Anyone want to help? I imagine most folks probably want to go explore, which is probably more fun, and understandable. ...

Re: Project Baseline
I had an idea a few months ago that I thought would be cool... curious if it is similar at all to what you are working on. Essentially I thought of taking hundreds of photographs looking straight down from 5 or so feet from the ocean floor. After getting 100% coverage of a site the photos can be pro...

Just calculated travel times and afraid I might be too late. I have plans later tonight and with ferry schedules and such I'm not sure I'd make it. Sorry... hope you have a good dive!

Keystone would be awesome. Would we be limited to one dive due to currents? If so, would you be interested in doing a second somewhere nearby?
