The only time I've been to warm water, that's where I went. I had a great time. They have a restaraunt right there, the food is pretty good. The shore diving, like Seth mentioned is pretty good. I'd go back there if I could ever afford a warm water trip again. There's a shop down here, in Salem, tha...

This weekend is the public grand opening & there should be deals.

I thought the same thing when REI opened in Clackamas a couple weeks ago. I was mistaken though, no special deals. I was kinda bummed about that.

So with the opening so close at hand, have there been any flyers in the local papers saying there's going to be deals on stuff, or x% off of everything for the grand opening? If there's not going to be any specials or anything, i won't make a special trip up on opening weekend.

Glad you finally got to dive Barview Sparky. It's a lot of fun, although it's a whole lot easier to do by boat, I've never done it climbing over the rocks. It's surprising how much there is to see on the jetty, there's not usually enough vis to see that much, or the current is moving pretty quick. A...

Georgia, thanks a ton for letting me tag along with you. I think the two dives we did were some of the best I've ever had. I had a lot of firsts that day: first time at Redondo, first time diving with you-which was great, first 3 grunt sculpins-which I can't believe I found, first hooded nudibranch,...

I was at Redondo with Wylerbear and one of her friends, vis was about 30' or so. i'd never been there before, so it was nice being able to see everything clearly. I found 3 grunt sculpins, which I'd never seen before, plus some other cool stuff.

Was the vis still good when you guys go there?

Wylerbear, that sounds good to me. I'll pm you my cell #, maybe we can caravan or something. I've never been there before, so having someone to give directions would be good.

Thanks for the invite Amy, but I wouldn't be able to make a 730 splash time friday night. I'm coming up from Portland, so i'd never make it up after work. I'll keep sunday in mind though. I think Saturday is going to work better for me, but I might be able arrange sunday.

That sounds ok, just so long as we are done in time for me to be at Bob's seminar at 6. What time would you want to meet there to start?

Need a buddy-Sat the 15th

Okay, here's the deal. I'm coming up north from Portland for Bob's gas management seminar. The class isn't until early evening. It seems a shame to me to drive all the way up to the sound and not do any diving. So I'm looking to do a couple dives in the sound somewhere. Who's interested?

I've seen one off the Oregon coast before. I was on a fishing charter, we saw one just floating at the surface. It was fairly big, just sat there, didn't move much. It was very cool to see though.
