Wednesday afternoon, Seattle area?

I'm taking Wednesday off work for some inconvenient errands, but I'll be free and in the downtown area after about 3 PM. I got me 2 tanks and I ain't afraid to use 'em...

Where do you get your regs serviced?

I need to take my Dive Rite reg in for annual service. Who does a good job, and won't give me attitude for not having bought it there? :)

I live near UWS, Bubbles Below, and NWSD if that helps.

Thanks!

I have a Salvo and like it. I had a personal support experience with them too, and they were great. (My light crapped out the day after I brought it home, Salvo and NWSD both were going to take care of me.) I have the focusable light head and I really like it. When I was reading up on this stuff the...

Can anyone ID this inch-long "bug?"

There were a million of these guys on the buoy ropes out at Blakely Harbor. I didn't even notice that they were alive and not the usual crud until they were all over my gloves. Out of the water, they moved kind of like an inchworm. Now that I look more closely at my photo I see that they are on my g...

Anyone dive "The Boss" at Blakely Harbor?

Last week I was out on a boat with a fellow from my dive club. We were trying to find a boat wreck at Blakely Harbor. http://seaotter.com/marine/html/boss.html We didn't find the buoy for The Boss though. We were working off memory of the above web site, so maybe we just blew it--but can someone con...

The coffee joint on the beach is run by nice people. I found some old information on the web that said the opposite, that they hated divers... I guess it changed owners.

I much prefer available-light photos, so I was very happy with these too. Conditions cooperated.

(I have honestly thought about making some kind of tripod to take down.)

Any local shops sell SI TECH glove parts?

I don't need a whole system, just repair parts. Anyone know for sure before I start calling around?

Thanks!

Visited a wreck at Harper's Ferry

I guess there are two boats there, according to the map I found. I think I visited the bigger of the two today. Last time I was at this site, it was a good dive, but we didn't find the wrecks. This time, I was there for crab with a different buddy, but found a wreck too... GREAT dive. There were sch...

Excellent vis Thursday at cove 2

I was there at about 7:30 PM on 8/30 with Moss Bay Dive Club. It was the best vis I have ever* seen in the sound--it looked like a completely new site to me. I have a terrible time estimating distances... I'd say 30-40 ft, when I mark a normal day there as 20-25. My dive buddy thought it was only 20...

GPS mapping dive sites

Yes, I know GPS does not work underwater. But today I read about a clever GPS trick that I have to try, at least above water. Basically, you get a program to look at your GPS track log and tag your digital photos with a location based on their timestamp. It's so simple, why didn't I think of that? S...

My buddy was Daniel Clark from Moss Bay Dive Club. We did 2 dives, and had a great time. I hit 25 dives, and by the time the second dive ended I had also had my first night dive. :)

Updates... I contacted the volunteer coordinator at the King County Sheriff. She said all their divers are officers, and there are no volunteer opportunities. I have a call in to the dive unit to verify that, and to ask if they know of any other groups I should check with. I have a call in to the Ki...
