Re: Starfish baby bloom?
The whole thing just really bums me out. Even if this virus disappeared tomorrow, or the young can mutate to combat the virus, it still takes a starfish 2 years to reach sexual maturity and several generations would have to pass for populations and ecosystems to return to normal, if that's even poss...

Long Island and Shaw Island, San Juans 5/21/16
Went out today with a couple of Marker Buoys on Lu-Jacs Charter to Long Island and Shaw. Long Island was everything beautiful as it always seems to be. Fields of Strawberry Anemones and nearly every square foot had a nudi. During our SI and travel to Shaw we encountered the largest male Orca I've ev...

Re: Bubbles & Suds (5/18)
I went shrimping over at the T dock last night, lousy catch, Saturday was a good night. Last night, not so much. I wish I had my camera instead of a goodie bag though, because there were more octos than I could count and 3 stubby squid, one was the size of my hand.

Re: Mukilteo
OK so you were diving the old fuel dock site that was torn out last year. Yes that was the main spot since I've been scuba diving and it has been the honey hole because of all of the muscles that grew on the pilings... the crabs would climb the pilings break the muscles off and feed on them on the ...

You can access the park from Mukilteo Lane. Going up from the ferry landing, turn left on second street. From second, turn left on Mukilteo Lane. You will see the place where you can cross the railroad tracks. It's a good entry point. I saw morningdiverbob diving there. Curt Shhhhh. DL, Curt, DL!! ...

I was so cold at the end & super hungry! :burntchef: The cold gets me every time! I had a 120min dive there and the last hour I was just going through stages of hypothermia before i headed back in. Iook at my air and I'm like 'pft I can't go in yet, I still have half my air left!' While convuls...

So, curious. How does a moon snail create this egg ribbon. I see them on more dives than not, and very aware that they're snail eggs, but I've never seen them produced. Is it like snail slime, eggs and sand? They're not a solid egg mass like nudis make

Re: Alki Pipeline
So that pipeline is like 20ft off the rock pile into the sand. Your dive profile sounds exactly like mine when I dived it in the fall. We got to the end of the rock piles, looked at each other like, 'OK, now what?' So decided to see if we couldn't get deeper and low and behold, there's the pipe! Too...

Oh it paid off a long time ago. I solo dived Kayak Pt last summer. Vis was like 2'. I had to smash my computer in my face to read it. I'm totally comfortable in zero vis. BTW, Kayak Pt is the worst dive site in Washington.
