Re: A wing ding deal for new BP/W wannabes

You must have a 10 or 12lb belt for single tanks diving then. Wicked lucky, mine's a total beetch. I couldn't tell you for sure, I was always overweighed when I used to dive singles. I haven't dove a single steel tank in at least 3 years, and any weighting was before I had a 20amp/hr 3lb negative c...

Re: A wing ding deal for new BP/W wannabes

I have had them drained to 200psi without any weight and still sink. I'm really warm blooded, and a polartec fleece keeps me warm even when slightly damp for up to 2 hour dives with a crushed neoprene suit. The 5lbs is for the bottle. So you can assume as you may, but they have already been drained.

Re: Non current sensitive "off the beaten path" dive sites?

-Dive monkey I've been going down there consistently every few weeks, sending you invites, and you keep working or not coming. :p I'll admit for awhile it was hard to get me to leave the seattle area while I was still in school. Had some class dives down there too.The last 3 months have been fairly ...

Re: Non current sensitive "off the beaten path" dive sites?

I'd love to go on boat trips! I don't know anyone with a boat, so I deal with what I got. I do have a scooter though now and hope to see more spots.

Re: Non current sensitive "off the beaten path" dive sites?

There's plenty of places. I routinely run down to Ruston Way for diving. Les Davis can be dove whenever and comes alive at night. Lobster Shop on the upper portion of the wall on mild to medium exchanges can be timed. The dry dock can be dove on medium exchanges, along with old town dock, those pili...

Re: Computers (Part 2)

It's primarily the team divers that don't use/rely on computers. It's easier to keep the team on the same page and deco schedule as well. I believe the whole point of the argument is, don't be relient on the computer. How far you lean towards one way or the other will likely be determined by who/wha...

Re: A wing ding deal for new BP/W wannabes

Ditto on a 58lb being too large for 100's. I currently use a Hollis Doubles 45lb wing with pst 100's, 5lbs of lead, an Al80 Stage, and Al40 deco bottle. Which is the max I would use with the wing, but it keeps my head above water on the surface and trims beautifully at depth. I used to use a 65lb di...

A large majority of the residents during the construction of the Dam, were in trailers as well. With the more permanent residents in the few buildings.

Re: Diving the OLD town of Vantage??

Sat down and talked to my grandparents about the old vantage this weekend. They grew up in eastern WA, Grandma's dad used to be a sheep herder out near Quincy in the early 1900's. Grandpa says you won't find much there, and grandma had a video from the Grant County PUD about the bridges. I figured I...

Hood Canal Boat Dive 12/8/2012

I'm a little late posting this, but I'm usually pretty busy with all of my hobbies and work so I never got around to it. Saturday December 8th one of my primary dive buddies Tyler, invited me along for a boat dive in Hood Canal with Pacific Adventure. I really haven't done a lot of boat diving since...

Re: Diving the OLD town of Vantage??

There's not a lot of articles about it that I could find. The old cement sections of the old bridge are supposedly still there. Everything else I could find so far mentions relocation of the town. As to whether that means removal of all buildings, I'm not sure. From the sounds of it they discharged ...

I can be there for the first one, I'm not sure if I can stay for the second dive. Anyone bringing a scooter for the first dive? I'd like to get more dives on this scoot to get used to it.

I'll be there, if someone wants to dive with a newb scooter diver, or work on setting up some line to work on running reels, jumps, OOA, etc... Kind of want to work on scootering, I had a blast with Dave learning on Saturday.

Re: I need a P valve!

Light Monkey has a decent one. I've come to prefer unbalanced, the duck bills for some people just seem to be problematic, for others not so much. I don't know whether it's flow rate, or just if you dive the suit tight it doesn't balance right and can't take the pressure. With the light monkeys and ...

Kitsapdiver - that's about what I'm looking to do. A nice long dive setting up a main line, and at minimum 1 or 2 lines to simulate a jump or circuit and getting all the little things refreshed, like clipping the double-ender toward the exit, using cookies (albeit dry gloves will make it fun...), dr...

I'm on NWUE for the last several years, to include while it was only mainly a yahoo groups page. Generally no response, unless it's Maggie and Adrian who I've usually dove with out of there more frequently. I've dove with a few others but not too often. Jared Cook would be my "FB name". I'...

I've made a few of them over the years, but wednesdays usually have seemed prohibitive in the past due to my schedule. I show up know a couple people, don't know who I'm diving with, so I don't bother with a lot of skill dives. The couple times I've made it. I prefer to know ahead of time if it's a ...

Hey, I was wondering if there was anyone interested in getting together every couple weeks and working on line work for cave. This spring I'm headed back to Florida to finish Full Cave from Apprentice, which is the level I'm currently trained at. I'm just finishing up with the last pre-req (adv nitr...
