Although I'm not sure how anonymous it will really be since most of us have distinct writing styles. ;)

Re: James Cameron to explore the deepest depths of the ocean

Hooray for Cameron -- and you know what else is cool? You can bet your bippie that at some point in the not-too-distant future, we will ALL get to see what he saw! Yup, and in 3-D! They mentioned that he was planning a documentary, but that they also used the 3-D because it would be helpful in meas...

Re: James Cameron to explore the deepest depths of the ocean

Too freaking cool! First time in my lifetime any human has been there! I remember reading about Picard and Walsh's dive as a kid, and wondering why they hadn't gone back......and I kept wondering, for the next 35 years or so....to me, this is huge. Seems like we're on the brink of a new age of deep...

Re: Another lesson learned today

Glad everything turned out ok for you today!! And I totally understand. I got into the bad habit of not doing pre-dive checks when I was always diving with the same people because "hey, we know each other." I started going to the Wednesday night dives in part because diving with new people...

Re: Collapsed lung after snorkeling?

Also, it's apparently a good idea never to ask me any medical questions. I suggest limiting conversations with me to things that may not impact your health. Examples include BBQ rubs, pinball, and stargate dialing protocols. But on those topics, you are A GENIUS! Seriously, don't feel like an idiot...

Re: Liquivision X1 (V5) Dive Computer Expedition

I've been borrowing a Xeo since my Uemis decided to quit working . . . again . . . and I've been very pleased. I was worried about the smaller screen, but it's ridiculously easy to read. And I was a bit unnerved about the "tap-interface" (who wants to purposely "hit" their comput...

Re: Gear Streamline Suggestions

Since I use one of those bungee-type thingys to attach the bolt-snap to my SPG hose (and then clip said bolt-snap to my left hip D-ring), I don't have to clip and unclip. It's one of the only times I prefer the bungee attachment because it easily slides up and down the hose. I haven't had any proble...

Re: DIR approach

Why GUE? Lots of agencies out there to teach higher diving education that aren't cultish. I cannot speak for other agencies but my experience with the PADI system has not been entirely good. Just my opinion but it seems to be more about promoting tropical diving travel and gear sales. Which I under...

Re: AED at Cove 2 missing

Crap! Marination doesn't have it. They aren't planning to have access to the building until April and she said she would have told me or Doug if they had grabbed it.

I don't know which is worse . . . that someone may have stolen it or that someone may have had to use it . . .

AED at Cove 2 missing

Apparently the AED is missing from Alki Fish and Crab. I've left a message for the Marination folks to see if they took it down for safekeeping, but in the meantime . . . anyone know anything we don't?

Re: New Undergarments

The Weezle stays warm by loft. I've heard that it sucks when wet. Thinsulate has been proven to stay warm when wet. Thats why I want thinsulate. The Weezle most definitely does NOT suck when wet. I wore my Weezel to shovel last month--while it was snowing--and I stayed toasty and dry inside the und...

Re: Heads up on facilities at the Coves

I've put the folks at Marination in touch with Sounder/Doug, since I understand he was instrumental is having the AED placed there after Jake's death. My contact at Marination, Michelle, has been very responsive thus far, and they want to make sure the AED is placed in a safe--yet reachable--place d...
