Ikelite D800 Housing for sale
I moved my D800 to a different housing a while ago and it's time to sell off the trusty Ikelite D800 housing. The housing is in good condition with the usual wear of a well cared for gear. I used it for about 2 years and serviced it once. It's been idle for a few months now but ready to dive right a...

Re: Dump valve woes.
Lead == warmth (air in suit) I recently started wearing a Waterproof 3D Mesh vest underneath my one piece Arctic. Takes another 4 lbs to sink, but I haven't been cold since. +1 for 3D mesh. I got a Waterproof Drysuit a few months ago and the 3D mesh in the suit covers you neck to ankles. I don't ev...

Re: ThThTh 3/5
Cool info, I'm going to have to try lowering power more often. Your camera's better high iso behavior probably helps you a bit though? Here's an example shot of the same satellite dish I had: :-({|= This was just one crappy quick shot but shows a couple problems, I think: (and I think I have these ...

Re: ThThTh 3/5
Dave, Awesome info, thank you. I suspect my 15mm fisheye is grabbing a little "extra" strobe light since it is so wide. I'm going to try my 17-40mm and see what kind of results I can get. Thanks again for the info. Jesse I have the Sigma 15mm lens and love it in clear tropical water. It f...

Re: ThThTh 3/5
Dave, Very nice WA shots. Can I ask what settings and lens you use to get such even lighting? I always seem to have light/dark areas when shooting wa. It maybe be due to my fisheye lens. But not 100% sure. Thanks Jesse Hey Jesse, I used a 16-35mm in an 8.5" dome on a Nikon D800 for this dive. ...

Re: ThThTh 3/5
We had a fantastic dive at Three Tree. The GPO on Eggs was a major highlight. Photos and Videos were taken! This was only my second time at the sight, and the first time I encountered all of the objects. Speedboat, Sat Dish, Boat Trailer, various toilets. I look forward to exploring this site again!...

Re: Three Tree 2/19
Does anyone have other shots of this species? I wonder if this is normal or an anomaly to have this sort of structure integrated into the eyeball. I think this is the Spiny Lithoid Crab- Acantholithodes hispidus.

Shot with a Nikon D800 and 16-35mm lens. This was the first time after about 15 years that I have ever encountered dolphins underwater in Puget Sound. Is this indeed uncommon or am I just unlucky? Certainly, pass them on. The notches in the pectoral fins are pretty distinctive. Apparently this individual has been seen hanging around the area for a few months. Must be a rough neighborhood.
