Re: Flooded Mine

So I was most graciously invited for the mine dive yesterday, and I'll have to say, what an adventure! I'll tip my hat to Richard for scoping this thing out, and for all three's (Richard, Brian, Jeanna) drive for the unknown, and the atypical form of northwest diving. We met early at a park an...

Re: Ivar's Billboard hoisted out of the sound

he and kent used ROV and newt suit if memory serves me... Yup. "...In December of the same year, Bernard and Severson returned with the St.Jude, a 110 ft dive platform and one Newtsuit. The Newtsuit is a one atmosphere armored diving suit that looks like a suit of armor on steroids. Along with...

Looks like an old piece being replayed. I believe Walter Jaccard filmed the underwater clips.

Re: Talks Charles Moore: Sailing the Great Pacific Garbage Patch

Where I work, they have the corn-based utensils, corn-based plastic cups (they look and act like normal) and we compost it all. Or, try to convince folks to bring in their own utensils/plates from home, their own coffee cups, etc etc. I know it's easier said than done, (in my case people deliberate...

Re: Flooded Mine

YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO SOME DIGGING AND FIND OLD MAPS OF THE SYSTEM. I DID A QUICK SEARCH AND CAME ACROSS INFO SAYING SOME OF THESE MINES HAVE TO BE CHECKED AND UPDATED AS FAR AS STRUCTURAL STATUS, ETC.

Thanks for the reference links, more info like that might just open the wallet enough to pay for the training to go that deep. There's a lot of shallow stuff too, just got to be willing to go searching. We just ran across the old Lk Wa Mill company site, a local shipyard site, with equipment still ...

Does this matter? I use mine as DIN-should I be blowing them out before I take them in to be filled? Or will any decent shop employee know to do that?
I'd say 97% of tank fillers don't do this. Do it yourself EVERY time!
