Re: Club dive! Club dive! Club dive! July 9th at Redondo!
Change of plans for us. Skiing Crystal instead on Saturday. Just wanted to give you a heads up in case anyone was counting on the cooler o'beverages. That particular cooler and its contents will now be in the Crystal parking lot instead of the 'Dond. Hope you all have some great dives on Saturday! C...

Re: Bonaire Report_Fritz and the Frogfish
Yes, I stayed at Tropical Divers resort (Tropical Inn) in January 2010. Clean rooms, but sparse. No biggie as long as you're not looking for luxury. Reasonably priced, too. And the location is pretty convenient. The restaurant next door (Sense) is good. Hot water was plentiful and there was a mini-k...

Re: New fees at State Parks
Washington is (was) unique in not charging a fee for using the parks. I was surprised when I moved here that there was no park entrance fee. Wisconsin has always charged a hefty daily or annual fee - on top of a state income tax of almost 7%. The money to keep the parks functioning has to come from ...

Re: Bonaire Report_Fritz and the Frogfish
Hey Fritz - great report. The Cai dive is very fun, especially the tarpon pit. If you are looking for steel 100s, try Tropical Divers (across from the Plaza Resort and next door to Sense restaurant). They have DIN connections, too.
Enjoy your time on sunny Bonaire!

Team Seattle tears it up in Bonaire
I had the good fortune of meeting up with Calvin this week to do some Bonaire diving. Just happened that we were on the island at the same time. We were lucky enough to dive Baby Beach in supremely flat conditions due to some serious wind reversals on the island this week. I blogged about it here: h...

Re: Diver Demographics
I've heard that old saw that "life gets in the way of diving" and I don't buy any part of it for most people. Oh, there are exceptions, as there are to most things, but overall what the person is really saying is that scuba doesn't interest me enough. The same people who roll out the &quo...

Happy New Year fellow diving peeps!
I've been MIA lately from diving around here, but once the snow melts and my skis/snowboard/snowshoes are stowed away for the season, I'll be back in the emerald waters of Puget Sound.
Peace out and here's to a fantastic 2011 for everyone!

Re: Won a trip for two to Bonaire!
They sell Bonaire Shore Diving at most local dive shops on the island. Definitely at Carib Inn and Buddy Dive. For car rental, you want a Toyota Hilux or something similar. They will all be manual transmissions, FYI. Take your AmEx and make sure you have the international car rental insurance covera...

Responding on behalf of Psundquist (who is assembling a grill right now and can't reply...because he won't leave for dinner until he finishes that project...and I'm starving :)), he is almost identical to your friend's measurements (including shoe size) and he has a CF200X in size L and it fits him ...

Re: Living at altitude

Living at altitude
What impact, if any, does living at altitude (say, 3000 feet) have if you want to dive Puget Sound on the weekends?
I know some folks refrain from diving if they are planning to drive over Snoqualmie Pass within a certain timeframe, but what if you live in Snoqualmie Pass full-time?

Re: DUI or BARE dry suit?
You're asking whether one should drive an Accord or a Mercedes. Both will get you from point A to B, but your experience getting there will likely be different. Both Bare and DUI are suits that will keep you dry while you dive (or at least one hopes). The difference is that one is more expensive and...
