Re: Bahamas, wohoo!!

I absolutely love Blackbeard's they're so much fun. Since learning to Cave Dive I've spent all my money heading to FL and MX, but the Bahamas would very much be worth the tirp and just to have a fun, relaxed, laid back vacation would be awesome. Unfortunately for me I think the Annual Leave Budget i...

Re: What training do we need next

I figured I would throw this out there as well. I obviously think Rescue and Nitrox are your next two dives. Nitrox is a great gas for extending the NDL especially in the 80-100 foot range. I think you're wise to hold off on tech classes or gear yet. A lot of people look at a class like "intro ...

Re: Line Drills and Practice?

Raptor on this board who is now not in the PNW any longer and soon hell be a permanent North Floridian used to do just this. We would both put in primary reels (one simulating gold line, the other simulating a side passage) and then put some line arrows on there and do jumps, set up circuits or what...

I'm a Knuckle Head. Jeff Pack is my Hero!

So today when I was getting out of the water at Sund Rock I was in a hurry to get out of the water and some dry clothes on because my suite flooded and my leg up to about my knee was full of water. I was freezing. I ran up and changed all my clothes. After that we started talking to Jeff Pack and hi...

Re: Hearing on protecting Cove 2 from GPO harvesting happeni

Tremendous maturing and great action by Dylan. Exccellent! I think it's great to hear that he was there. I haven't gotten to see what he said yet, but it sounds like his actions are commendable, and I hope that his actions now get as much, or even more positive attention than his original actions. A...

I didn't even get that far into the paragraph! I simply saw the substandard gear part! That's even funnier! Wow!! I think I should go work for the state department and help them write that section of the country brief! Think they're hiring?

They Cover Everythign!

So I'm going to Mexico over the Thanksgiving week to go diving, in preperation I was reading the State Department Website for travel information, and didn't expect I would find anything that applied to me but found this: "Rented sports and aquatic equipment may not meet U.S. safety standards or...

Re: No boundary line at Cove 2

Well it's probably certainly worth noting that the spot-light is on us a little bit as divers in Cove 2 right now. I think the GPO work that is being done is a great compromise with fisherman, however we do need to remember that we share this area with fisherman. OTOH, I always dive along the bounda...

Dive Party Saturday at Cove 2

ON the Bubble's Below Facebook Page discussion has been made about having a "Scooter Party" at Cove 2 on Saturday. I think it's actually a really good idea. And for those that don't scooter, screw it, let's just go dive! In all honesty in some way I think it would be awesome to just pack C...

Re: Diamond Knot Charters?

Bill Miton runs a really fun operation out there. Actually he also does a great operation on Dalco wall where he must be on a first name basis with the critters. If you can't get up to the knot this winter do Dalco with him. Have you finished normoxic diluent yet? If you're interested in a Dalco wal...

Re: Sund Rock

I was out there Sunday evening, and the couple of wolfies I saw were panting, but not as bad as I've seen in the past. Having already read a trip report that there was a lot of life in the shallows it made me nervous I would find a lot of critters there panting (indications of low O2 levels) but all...

Re: How I spent my summer vacation

Richard this cave looks beautiful. It is so good to hear that you guys are finding caves a little more open up there. In the video it looks like there aren't many side passage, but it looks like there are some. Maybe I missed it in the write-up but what are the landowner relations like? I know you g...

Re: Boat rendezvous

OOHHH I have done the Omar, but at the time I was one of those divers without a scooter so I didn't get to see the barges. I have a few friends with boats who are not on the board, or don't check it out often. I'll drop some hints to them. I hope this comes together the trip to the lake last Spring...

Re: Diver in distress kitsap county

Based on my admittedly very limit knowledge of geoduck diving I would think he was diving surface supply. No?

My only exposure is walking by the boats at the Brownsville Marina. Perhaps others will have more input, but I doubt it was traditional back mount open circuit diving.

Re: Is a DPV Class Worth Taking?

Novice, I had a few dives (including tech dives) on scooters before I took my DPV class, and will say that I still found it very useful. I had not considered purposefully crashing a run away scooter, and dind't realize, how simple stopping the prop could be (although I'm not sure I'd want to try it o...
