Re: Northwest Dive and Travel Show Photo Contest Ringer
This new adventure show seems to have a lot more scuba equipment people supporting it.
http://www.gearupexpo.com/
Might be interesting to see if they get a lot of interest from divers in the area and expand this market segment in future shows.

Re: LDS won't sell o-rings
An LDS forcing a customer to go purchase a very common part online or elsewhere.... interesting.
It is amazing what some dive shops do to drive away customers.
Its also amazing the number of really cool dive shops we have in the area.... Guess you always have the good and the bad.

Is the operator of theperfectdive.com around on these forums?
There is a tad bit of spam on the website and I hope you can clean it off sometime.
I really enjoy the site and hope it continues to be in operation and expands.

Interesting and something to remember.
Does anyone have a story of taking a spill down the hill at Jorstad Creek or Octopus hole?

I saw some divers once with a little trailer behind their bike with all the dive gear in it.

I hope we start to see juvenile yelloweyes on a regular basis.
The first (and only time) I have seen one in Hood Canal, it was so out of place with its tropical colors I was stoked!

+1 on everything you said about Saltwater and more reefs like this.
Heck I would even open my wallet or try to organize some fund raisers at our local dive club to have them do more reefs like this.

Re: Mikes Beach
I have stayed at Mikes a number of times, for classes and just for fun diving. Never had a problem. The waterfront cabins are certainly the best accommodations. You can't beat the ease of night diving there and I have run into a very wide range of critters. Pretty much everything except wolf-eels He...

Maury Island Barges and Saltwater State Park -- Via Bandito Charters
Easy 30+ foot viz - Large whale snot - lots of fish.
We could see the whole trawler from the first piling at Maury and had an excellent view of the barge remains.

I dove in June with Lois Ann Charters -- http://www.loisann.com/
Some friends who lived in San Diego in the past said this is the best boat and the one they always used.
I wrote about it on my blog if anyone cares.

Re: Jellyfish sting relief
Valerie Lyttle ( I think ) once told be to scrape off the stingers with a credit card or cert card. That seemed to work pretty good... Another tip is to just not stick your face into the jelly  That's how I do it now -- The first year I was diving I didn't quite seem to be able to keep my face...

Re: Portland Scuba Diver
Depending on whats closer to you Salem, Eugene or Portland there are some very active dive clubs in Oregon. www.oregonscuba.com (sorry I don't have the other club pages handy but I bet google can find them) You can certainly find some buddies to dive (and car pool) up to Puget Sound/Hood Canal or ex...

If your down in the Portland area www.oregonscuba.com is a great club to find some local dive buddies and see whats going on diving wise locally. Also helpful for carpooling to Puget Sound and Hood Canal to cut costs.

Re: Tillamook Bay
I would love to jump on some boats and go out on the norther Oregon Coast. Tom Hemphill of the NW Diving history group was telling me last week at the Oregon Scuba Meeting around the lighthouse south of Seaside was some of the most amazing diving he had ever done. I hope to find someone with a boat ...

Re: Garibaldi Boat Dive -- This Saturday July 14th
And after all this --- The captain strongly suggested we cancel the trip. Viz is going way down (he had a group monday) and with the swells and waves predicted to increase he doesn't think it will get any better. So now I will run around and contact all the people I begged to get on the boat that it...

Garibaldi Boat Dive -- This Saturday July 14th
This Saturday July 14th 2012 -- Currently this minute -- there are 2 spots open on the boat and I need to find a couple divers! Oregon Scuba Club is putting on this charter and some things came up for a couple divers this week and they had to get off the boat. Weather and tides look AWESOME! There w...

Re: Looking for a great inexpensive light?
I ordered one of these (because of this thread) and its a nice backup light.
I didn't even get the lanyard with it :( but wasn't planning to use it anyhow. Mounted on a split ring to a retractor.
Its a fine light and will work perfect as a backup light or a loaner to someone.

Re: Octopus Hole For sale
Ah there is more to the property then dive site access and a hill.
I didn't know it included a house and some land people could live on.
Lets hope whoever buys it up doesn't try to stop shore access.
There isn't enough shore dive sites to begin with so losing this one would be terrible.
