Re: Wolfie Mated Pairs

Unlike other fishes they mate for life.... Not so . I also had heard this and used to believe that wolf-eels mated for life until I met Marine Biologist Tony Parra years ago, (as Fritz mentioned above), and he disabused me of this notion. I've enjoyed many dives with Tony over the years, and each t...

FOR SALE: Seaquest Spectrum 2 BC

FOR SALE: Seaquest Spectrum 2 Buoyancy Compensator. Typical recreational BC used by thousands of divers worldwide, often used by shops as part of their "rental fleet" due to this model's simplicity and basic durability. This item was purchased for my son and was rarely used. It has been we...

DRYSUIT FOR SALE

For Sale: USIA drysuit, Size XL, Foot 9-10. This is my son's drysuit and he hardly ever used it, most of our trips together being warm-water destinations. I doubt if it even has more than 20 dives on it. It has been extremely well taken care of and stored properly and is in excellent condition. It w...

Re: Pony bottle, sling or bracket?

Sling. No question. It will always work for you with a minimum of fuss no matter what you choose to dive - single, doubles or CCR, plus it's one heck of a lot easier to haul down to the beach or to deal with on boats that are less than roomy. :rawlings:

Re: Fin to fit the colossal Whites Evo 3 boot size 14/15

I have a pair of Jet Fins in XXL in great shape that I was going to post for sale. I guarantee that they would be big enough. The only worry might be that they are too big! PM me if you are interested and you can try them on.

Re: Dive Jobs @ Pt Defiance Aquarium

Don't want much for their $12.00 and hour do they? Did you read that job qualification sheet? The qualifications required make sense to me. Contrary to what folks might think, this is not a "good fit" job for Joe Shmo right out of AO class. It seems reasonable that they would want s...

Re: Octo/BC combo air supply

You have a lot of opinions here, which you seem to be trying to fight. If you want an air integrated octo, then go ahead and get one - most people here aren't going to refuse to dive with you, and you can decide for yourself if it's for you. You might end up liking it, or you might end up "buy...

Re: Northwest Dive and Travel Show Photo Contest Ringer

Take me for example -- I'm a graduate student defending my PhD in Bioengineering in 6 days, and for fun I teach a handful of reasonably-priced UW photo classes a year and sell roughly the same number of prints from my website. Does that make me a "pro"? Yes, sorry, Scott, but in my opinio...

Re: Northwest Dive and Travel Show Photo Contest Ringer

I regard Amanda as a professional. In my opinion, once photos have been sold for anything above "cost" you are a pro, (for example, many divers "sell" their shots to friends and relatives just for the cost of printing). To me, there is no gray area - you're selling or you're not.

Have to say I'm also curious as to what they snagged. Maybe they brought a new "reef" structure to muk for us:) That was the very first thing that crossed my mind as well when I read the part below: .....but we do not yet know the fate of the snagged object (which appears to be about 25 f...

The problem lies with your recipients. A PM will remain in your outbox until the person you sent it to opens it. Only then will your PM appear in your sent box.
