Best dive tattoo shop in Seattle or Portland

Or anyplace in the PNW for that matter A one time thing is worth the travel time for me. I think I may have gone over the edge here and decided to get a tatoo of an Octopus. Cost is not the highest priority, quality is. Who has done something for you, post a photo here. Especially if you have an oct...

Small tide change better visibility ???

I have noticed this in the past. However I'm not sure if it's just coincidence. For the most part tides seem to change plus or minus 8-10 feet in the sound. At least thats what I see looking at the tables. However I have seen tide changes as small as only a foot or even 2-3 feet. In the odd situatio...

Re: Viz Reports Thread

Edmonds Saturday was the best I've ever seen it, by probably double the distance. Hard to measure when it's that far, but 50 foot would not be an exaggeration. I would conservatively say 45-60 foot!

Alki Monday 29th noon dive buddy needed

Anyone diving Alki tomorrow afternoon. Had planned two dives tomorrow first in at noon. Possibly earlier. My dive buddy over there hurt his leg running today. He is out. I’ll be over to the Seattle area for work so I wanted to dive. Open to other locations. I can be there between 11:00 and 12:00 Sho...

Re: Switched over to drysuit finally!

Great reply Norris, Thanks for the idea of the shoelace, that is the likely path for me. Interesting how little space is needed to transfer the air between the glove ands suit.

Re: Switched over to drysuit finally!

Thanks so much guys, this is exactly what makes this site so great for me to be part of. I’m paranoid about trusting my gloves not to leak and getting the water into the suit. However time will tell how my confidence unfolds. The pull out the rope and put glove back on if it leaked was exactly what ...

Re: Switched over to drysuit finally!

I’ve already done the SSI drysuit class and passed the test. I’m only waiting to do the pool test and open water training portion. Holidays now and all do it will be next week here in the Columbia river. Somebody in this thread said the glove squeeze only becomes significant at deeper depths. What d...

Switched over to drysuit finally!

Well guys, I have finally made the switch to the drysuit world. 30 years in a wetsuit mostly in South Africa. Now living here the dry suit bug got me after a year of diving the sound with my 7mm suit. So I bought a Bare HDC tech dry suit. I had it built for me which took a while, like 7 weeks. Boots...

Re: 32 gig capacity with TG-4

Well, I have well over 1000 photo's on that 32g card now. This Olympus TG4 is quite handy to save photo's with the wifi feature. I loaded the ones I really liked to my Iphone over wifi in a few minutes. This is effectivly like laptop storage, just using my phone. I have now also been able to wifi th...

Re: Build a reef at Redondo

Just want to thank all of you that make this possible for me. Don't think that you're not making a difference. If I were not 5-6 hours away ( one way) I would be involved with this any way I could. Living near Walla Walla I enjoy heading over to the sound almost monthly to dive. It's a lot of travel...

Re: Lake Wenatchee 10/14

Most of us seem to be driven to saltwater. Myself included and for obvious reasons. There are some good lake dives especially in the fall. Thanks for the report. I often view them as a treasure hunt more than a wildlife viewing dive. People seem to drop all sorts of things in the water. Mostly rubbi...

Re: Barkley Sound

I’ll discuss this off line. I’m not gonna get in a argument or cause bad feelings. There were some interesting events of which ten out of ten of us agreed on the situation. The ferry ride from Duke point back to tsswassan was a long trip for the group to share opinions on this. All agree we would go...

Barkley Sound

Dove Barkley sound last week 4 days three dives a day. Visibility ranged in some places to 100 foot, worst case about 50-60 foot. Water was 48-51 degrees down to 89ft, my deepest dive. Life is plentiful and diverse. We saw whales, sealions aplenty even while diving. Also saw a bear eating a seal on ...

air consumption curiosity

Hi guys, At the local dive shop today there was an interesting topic that I would like to share and also get other opinions and feedback. I have just recently completed my drysuit classes and Drysuit certification with SSI. I now await my drysuit which is ordered and being built for me. One of the t...

Re: 32 gig capacity with TG-4

Yes I have one for the trip. I shoot standard Jpeg at 16mp The Olympus chart on the webpage they have shows 3000 pictures. I'm not in a position to argue that However, it's surprising that it could hold that many.

32 gig capacity with TG-4

Anybody care to guess about how many photos can a 32g SD card can hold in an Olympus TG4?

I’m at 800, but going to Barkley sound. Maybe I need another SD card for this 5 day dive trip?

Re: Dalco wall

140-180-5000? Matters not to me I won't be going that deep anyway. 130 feet is as deep as I care to dive. In the tropics it's still good vis and wildlife abounds. In the sound I think most of the things I enjoy are much shallower than 130 feet.
