Glad that tank is seeing some use other than being a doorstop in my basement!McGlencoe wrote:spatman wrote:Thanks Matt, and thanks for the sale on the AL80, it came in handy during training, they started me out with a single al40, then your single al80 and then two al40s!

Congrats on your tech diver status! Though I didn't take mine with Mel, I thoroughly enjoyed it and it definitely made me a better diver for it.

Re: bottle fields?
There are several spots along Ruston Way in Tacoma that might still yield nice finds in the 60-80' range. We've even found a few old medicine bottles and such just to th right of the Les Davis fishing pier.

Re: New Diver
Many divers offer to bring extra gear to the club dives for others to try out. Also, we have many folks here that are happy to just help out too, so if there's something you're interested in, just ask. I'll also echo what Norris said, try not to just buy packages of gear. Research each piece and try...

Re: New diver looking for gear recommendations
Contact Norris if you're interested in a good starter drysuit. He's been storing my original USIA suit for a while. It may need a seal or two replaced, but it's in good enough shape to get you diving dry right away. If it fits and you like it, I'll sell it to you cheap cheap cheap.

Plus Shearwater has an excellent track record with customer service and product stability, whereas LV used their early customer base as test subjects with little support when their units failed. Left a lot of people anti LV as a result.

Re: 25 dollars for what????
I'm being very nice to him even layed out a dive plan. I'm taking the proper avenues to acquire a permit and pay the appropriate (but ridiculous) fees. I've done this at a half dozen state parks in Washington alone. He is the one making the problem, not us. Trolls and gate keepers, nothing more. Th...
