Well they changed up my schedule a bit. It's now Monday and Tuesday I will be in Seattle. Rather than Wednesday Thursday
So.... anyone available to dive on Monday or Tuesday?

Question on sea life
I was wondering if anyone could share the details on the life form that is two parallel connected tubes that are burrowed into the bottom and extend up from there about 1.5-2" If you touch them they suck right into the sea floor. They are all brown in color but have a yellow or goldish looking ...

Alki cove 2
I wish parking was not such an issue here! My wife dive with me. Her first trip here since being certified. We had a great time. She used all her own equipment for the first time as well. Rented tanks only. Water was pretty good, 52 deg pretty consistent to 45 feet. Viz was fair maybe 8 feet or so. ...

Re: Scuba is "too expensive" Huh?
"Horses are giant beavers ... All they do is eat" I lease my east pasture every year to various folks that have the need for this kind of space. This year I leased it to a woman that trains horses. They are eating machines! No worry about mowing this year. They will chew down all the gras...

Wet suit neck stretch
I have a couple wetsuits that the neck is very tight. If I zip them up over a tank to stretch the neck how long will it take to stretch them. Overnight or a week?
After which how long do they stay stretched? Any experience with this?

Scuba is "too expensive" Huh?
I hear all the time how expensive scuba is. I wonder if folks are uninformed, or just peculiar about recreational priorities. Yeah I agree scuba is expensive, however cost is relative to many things. However I have friends that are into motocross, scuba is way less expensive than motocross, the guys...

Re: Alki cove 2 or equal June 3rd?
Is the walk down to the water at cove one as easy as cove two? If I recall they are only seperated by the wood pilings on the point and maybe 50-75 yards of water?

Alki cove 2 or equal June 3rd?
Well, I'm headed to a business meeting on June 2nd which includes the mariners game. Since I will be there with hotel covered by expense account I'm going to bring my wife along to dive on the third. This will be her first dive since being certified. Also her first dive using all her own gear. I hav...

Re: Dierkes Lake Twin Falls Idaho
Thanks, found the local dive shop has free air wednesdays at this lake for a couple hours in the evening. I'm gonna schedule my business trip to coinside with a wednesday. Not for the free air, but because he said that there are plenty of folks so a dive partner will be easy to hook up with. Truthfu...

Re: Olympus TG-4 First use at Cove 2
A dry suit may actually be in my future. The two key factors are how cold it is once out of the water when changing into dry clothes after the dive. Everyone has a different cold tolerance. To this point in my Puget sound diving the 7mm full jumpsuit and the step in hooded vest has been fine under w...

Dierkes Lake Twin Falls Idaho
What are the odds that anyone on this site lives near this place or wants to buddy up for a dive there? I have to be in Twin Falls next month and thought I should research this opportunity? Any Twin Falls Idaho folks here?

49-52 deg we were averaging around 30-40fsw I think the 49 was probably at the 70ish fsw mark
Being in a wetsuit I could feel the warmer water as we got closer to the surface. Ha ha.... warmer!

Olympus TG-4 First use at Cove 2
Well, there was certainly a bit of learning curve. However after the near two hours of dive time Saturday ( thanks JT) I learned quite a bit about this combination. First everything worked as planned and designed. Second, manipulation with the 5mm gloves was no problem at all. Certanly not as easy a...

I have been diving now quite a few times in the sound with my 7mm jumpsuit and step in hooded vest. Warmth is no problem, it's been toasty for me for multiple dives per day. Fit seems good, I can see seam imprrints in my arms when I take it off. They are not deep scar tissue imprints, just snug enou...

Re: Olympus TG-4 initial impressions
I was really on the fence with the housing choice. The Olympus housing was about everything I wanted and made specific by the company. Years ago while living in South Africa I bought a rather expensive camera to use for photo's of the clients diving. It was a Canon in a Canon housing. That enclosure...

Olympus TG-4 initial impressions
It's not even been wet yet, but a couple interesting observations. The camera in underwater mode takes surprisingly good pictures out of the water! The ikelite case is very well made but may be a bit of a challenge with 5mil gloves to operate. It's quite nice and definitely no buyers remorse with th...

BCD storage, no air, some air? full?
Just curious, I've never considered this before with some average quality BCD's I've owned. However, since spending the money on this higher end Zeagle Ranger model, I want to be sure it's stored properly whether a week, over night, or a maybe even a month. Should it be stored as empty as possible o...
