Re: 4/12/08 Redondo
I guess I have to conceed that I am an adult given my age, but there's no way I'm a grownup! :naka: I think your gray nudi was a shaggy mouse nudibranch. Excellent report, thanks for sharing! I especially like the reminder that we don't always have to be doing anything, just hanging out under water ...

Re: technical divers
An unusually large percentage of divers here are tech or DIR divers. There are also a lot who are somewhere between rec and tech, and those who are strictly recreational. The nice thing about this board is that it’s (mostly) lacking the antagonism and animosity that you see on larger boards between ...

Re: Pt Defiance N Wall / Z's Reef / Omar / Possession Pt Ferry
I did the Omar and the barges as my second scooter dive last weekend (the 5th). The line was still there that weekend. There is a rope that's held down with cinder blocks between the wrecks that was put down some time ago but it keeps getting covered up with sand. Richard's got the full scoop on tha...

Re: technical divers
There are PLENTY of places on the web for those who wish to discuss tech diving ONLY with tech divers to go. One of the things that, to me, gives this board such a sense of unity is that things AREN'T divided up. We're all just divers here, and I for one like it that way. Jake Well put Jake :smt038...

Re: Dive Club Stickers and Summer T-Shirts
Locally there is B-Bam! in Capitol Hill that does a great job printing shirts. I know they do stickers as well, and I'm assuming they are waterproof, but I will walk over during lunch and check. I've also had friends in bands and burlesque troops who have recently had some really nice shirts and sti...

Re: Wet Gloves?
It seems everytime I turn around someone is having trouble with their dry-gloves. Having tried them, I have found I personally much prefer wet gloves. I currently am running a fairly inexpensive pair of wetgloves and am about to upgrade. I've heard good things about the Northern Diver wet gloves, b...

Re: WTB (maybe) single BP/Wing
thanks, nailer. what's an average SS bp weigh vs an aluminum one? I met someone who had a 10 lb SS plate once, not sure where it came from. Diverite makes an ABS plastic plate that's light as a feather, and DSS makes a kydex/steel hybrid plate that is light as well but I don't know the weight. When...

Well, it snowed, then it was sunny, then it snowed, then the seagulls tried to steal my chocolate chip cookies - I came back from the loo to find Scott sprinting down the beach after the thief, I had no idea he could move so fast! We did a couple of dives in excellent conditions - the usual suspects...

Ask them how they would feel if a giant alien threw a tear gas canister in their home just to watch them run out and squirm around on the ground? Remind them that we are guest in the octo's homes and it's rude to antagonize your host? Are they doing this out of ignorance or are they aware of how awf...

OK-I know I want spring straps. Steel doesn't break unexpectedly while on a dive trip. That's the main appeal for me. Any LDS will have them? Padded heels or not? Er...they're LESS likely to break, but I do recall that Bob B. had to finish a dive once with one of his fins tied on with cave line. An...

I think we'd need to splash at around 8 for dive one...
