Re: A good fill in the Seattle area?
If short fills are becoming a consistent problem, start checking your tanks with a pressure checker before accepting them. Point out any short fills and ask that they be remedied before you pay for them. I generally check any tank I don't fill myself as a standard practice before I leave the shop. I...

Re: Revamped Photography Website
Very nice, Scubie!
I think it's way cool that some of your earlier work with the G10 (even some that were pre-strobes) still makes "the cut". It reinforces the old saying that "it's not the arrow, it's the indian".

Nice! Video to follow?
I really enjoy Salt Creek, but have never tried it this time of year - afraid of making the long drive and having weather prevent us from getting in/out of the water. How were conditions?

Re: Weights Minimum
I probably should have clarified my concerns with camera, pony tank, camera and the like. You can't determine your absolute minimum weighting while carrying items that might be accidentally dropped, intentionally ditched (excluding weights) or emptied. Ultimately, you still have to be able to hold a...

Re: Weights Minimum
An "abosolute minimum" is a tough number to throw a guess at without knowing all the variables. - What tank(s) will you be using? Aluminum & steel have significantly different buoyancy characteristics. - What type of BCD? Is it negative or positively buoyant - and by how much? - Are yo...

Actually I think that's a brown cat shark egg case- very cool find Thanks, Greg! I never would have guessed it to be from a shark. I didn't even know that there was a brown cat shark, or that it was something to be found in our local waters. I always thought those were skate egg casings. We saw 3-4...

I think Jesse has a new profile picture there! Great pictures from all... I actually spent Saturday out there, too, but on top of the water down at Hoodsport (a salmon tournament for Heroes On the Water). Just a little bit of weather to deal with in the kayak. I think y'all had a better time but it...

Re: Titlow 11/13
I had a similar experience diving at Titlow a few years back. We did get to the dolphin (barely), where we pretty much hid from the current behind the pilings the entire dive. Small exchange days are key when diving sites along the Tacoma Narrows, such as Day Island, Titlow and Fox Island East Wall....

Re: Sund Rock - 11/12/16
Sund Rock rarely disappoints, and Saturday was a fine example. Vis reports were promising earlier in the week, so I opted to setup with my wide angle lens for the day. Good thing, rarely does one get the opportunity to capture something truly unique. There we are, ascending from where we found a bro...

Re: Great night dive at Redondo
Great report and pics, Bob! Nice find on the little wolfie. The squid fisherman were thick on Thursday as well. Every one of them had multiple catches right at sundown. I noticed many ink clouds during our dive, but didn't see one opalescent squid. Redondo at night in November is a great recipe for ...

I think I've got an old ring with a torn seal somewhere around here that you could try. Just need to figure out a time to meet up. That, and some significant digging in the ol' dive locker...

Re: DUI neck Zipseal?
I don't see why you couldn't - the zipseal ring is installed into the DUI crushed neoprene suit. However, considering your impressively large noggin, I'd try to get ahold of a used zipseal/ring and make sure you can get it on. I've heard it's a valid concern.
