Pretty sure they are the same ...Identical really. The Aeris was cheaper to buy but didn't offer the same warranty if I remember right. But identical masks.

Re: Oceanic DATA Mask

I have over 125 dives on mine ....easy to read and easy to program. The link cable came free with mine new? Never had a malfunction. Its a heavier mask ( out of the water ) and your vision is reduced some over a regular mask. But you can't beat the hands free display. I always know whats happening a...

Re: A beautiful Sunday at Mukilteo

Very Nice Video ! Which Go Pro you using? Lens ? and how are you mounting it? Have to say, one of the best clarity GoPro video's I've seen at that depth so far. The lighting is awesome !! and great job of stability !

Thanks for sharing. :)

Re: Bare drysuit latex seals are tight

Mine were very tight for the first 15-20 dives. Are you talking about the Neck seal? Neoprene and Latex. I didn't cut mine just folded in in more. The Latex has to go against your skin and a fold that's a few inches is best. It does develop a memory at the fold to make it easier later on. I would re...

For some reason I get better SAC rates on night dives !! must be I feel more comfortable and peaceful. and you only see whats in your light, less time straining your eyes trying to see far ahead ?

I'd take a night dive over a day dive anytime IMO

Re: What Fins Do You Use & Why?

I use the Scuba Pro Twin jets ....split fin Why? I was told they were the best ........hindsight.........they are great for warm and cold water. BUT if I could get a " do over" I'd go with the F1's. Only way to frog kick in these is to be VERY LIMBER !! and forget backing up..... they are ...

That was my 1st choice ...then I dove with the Data Mask. The Mask won ! but would still luv to have one of the X1's if I ever go beyond recreation diving.

Re: Aluminum vs steel tanks

+1 for Steel HP 100's preferably w/ pro valves ......some HP 100's have a smaller neck and you have to run DIN only. Aqua Lung is one of those ( at least mine are ) I learned the hard way, but my AL 80's are spare tanks for visitors.

If the local cold water shrimp are anything like the tropical shrimp....then can be pretty tricky to maintain.

myself ......Tube worms, clams ...inverts would make a nice educational attraction.

Re: Which drysuit?

I tried on numerous suits before I decided on the Bare Tech Dry / HD Tri Lam. My reasoning was the light weight of the suit and availability to use more or less undergarments for climate control. Fast drying and durability of the suit, and BARE'S lifetime warranty on seams. Only 150 dives on it and ...

Re: Club dive! Club dive! Club dive! SUNDAY February 19!

Out of curiosity, is this the size of most club dives ?? Good thing Sund Rock wasn't the dive site !! Maybe we should have Wal-Mart build next to the water so we have a larger parking lot, followed by Starbucks, Subway and a Brew Pub !! Actually I'll settle for great weather and SAFE diving with eve...

I think those are questions you are going to have to ask the makers, not the board. Fact is both these two have made some impressive lights, better, cheaper price and HOMEGROWN GOODNESS. Each has made their own impressions on numerous people, while maintaining a professional attitude and providing a...

Went from a the Pistol grip UK C8 to Dusty's Z Light .....words cannot express how happy I am !!! Another thing to think about is diving as part of a 3 person team. Reduce the stress load, increase the safety for you and your buddy. If diving is the thing you love, and it brings joy to your heart, do it as long as you can. I am quite sure you can find people who are willing, able and trained to...

It's in Des Moines, next to Salty's. We'll meet in the parking lot across kitty corner from Salty's, NOT the parking lot directly across the street from the restaurant. Here's a map! http://g.co/maps/6ptvp The large lot listed as Salty's Bakery on the map? I'm trying for the camp ground, and if it w...
