Looks like you're putting the new diopter to good work. I still haven't seen a sea angel.

Re: Happy Nudi New Years

Looks like Phyllidia varicosa on that one, Jess. Saw some of those in Palau as well. There's also another species in the family that has pink instead of yellow.

That's the one from the first photo. Was good for photos because you could sit in front of it and wait for it to get super close. I haven't been to three tree in a while before this. Need to get back more.

Re: Whirlwind tour of the south sound

Thanks guys. And derek, he led the Guadalupe trip that I did last year. He's been talking about coming up to the sound for lumpies and ratfish pretty much ever since then. Finally decided last minute that last weekend would work. And I think about 75% of the time I've been at Junkyard there's been a...

Whirlwind tour of the south sound

Had a friend from LA come up this past weekend so he could get some puget sound diving in and check off a few critters from his list. Lumpies, Ratfish, GPO's, and wolf eels were the big 4 he wanted to photograph. We didn't end up finding a GPO, but were able to get the others to at least show up. ht...

Re: Looking for divesite and buddy ideas; 16-19 November; noob cold water diver

Not great tides to do Keystone, but if you don't mind driving down to Edmonds you could probably spend plenty of time diving there in the underwater park. Looks like high tide that weekend is around noon-1pm depending on the day. Low tides are at night around 7-8pm. More sea life at night, of course...

Re: Bainbridge island

BI resident here. You looking at doing a boat charter off the Island? Or the shore dives there? For shore dives, you basically have 2 options: Rockaway Beach (Also known by some as Norrander's Reef), and Fort Ward. I haven't dove Fort Ward yet, but from what I've heard, there's not a ton. Rockaway h...

Nice photos. I went to Grand Cayman back in 2012. Stayed at Sunset House on the west side and did my Advanced while I was there. The Kittiwake was my first night dive, back when it was upright and freshly sunk. I've been considering going back.
