Re: Two Mid-range Strobes or One Big Boy?
Hi I have 2 ikelite systems, one for a Nikon d7100 and one for a d300. I have 2 ds160's, 2 ds51's and one ds200. I use the d7100 for wide angle and it also has a 45 degree view finder and a vacuum pump. It is good to have redundancy and the easy ability to switch between wide angle and macro. :) We ...

If you can swing it, you could also get one of each. Put the 160 on the right (top in vertical format) and the 51 on the left. Great coverage with less cost than a dual 160 setup!

Re: Two Mid-range Strobes or One Big Boy?
Hi! I'd go with two 51's for macro. I'd go with one DS 160 if you're doing mostly wide angle. The 51's don't cover as much ground. And one strobe works ok for WA, especially for vertical format images. IMO one strobe doesn't work so well in macro. I'd go with as long of arms as possible! Helps you r...

Hi Welcome to the board, and to the addiction! :) This site is a great resource for finding new buddies, planning dives, getting gear, and answering any questions you may have. Where do you live, which areas/times are convenient for you to dive? I definitely recommend taking the AOW class series...

Cool! I've seen them at TTN, Junkyard, and Breakfast Rock in the San Juan Islands too. This is a recent sighting, in case anybody's been having bad luck.

Lumpy sighting
Howdy folks I was at Titlow today having a picnic (not diving!) I saw some divers come out of the water, and they said they saw a reddish lumpy. So if you're lumpy starved, this may be a place to look. If you're the diver who told me of then sighting, then "Hi" and "Thanks"! :) I...

Happy to point out the PMH's to anyone. You sort of have to know what to look for and where.stphnmartin wrote:I think a prescription mask will really help me be able to find those tiny things you're highly attuned to. Or, I'll have to ask you to point them out. :-)

Re: Sund Rock in the Cold 1/2/16
I believe one person mentioned in another thread they saw 3 on one dive there recently. Not sure if the wreck was one of the locations. I somehow doubt the chase off!

Sund Rock in the Cold 1/2/16
Howdy Folks SJ, SeattlePaul1975, MightyMouse, 4 others and I went to Sund Rock today. What a great day! First dive was to the south wall, then we did the north wall and wreck. Brrr it was cold outside, in the mid 20's when we got there. But it wasn't bad once down to 15 feet deep. Here were some of ...

Re: Aquatica A7D, Canon 7D, Sea&Sea Strobes For Sale
Well, I've decided that taking photos isn't for me - just don't have the aptitude or patiences for it I guess. Photography can be brutally hard in the beginning. I felt just like this when I started. In fact, I did give up doing underwater photography for about 7 years, after this first feeling! Th...
