Re: Need a refresher, just blew the dust off my gear
I'd appreciate recommendations for private instructors for a refresher course in the Seattle area (I'm in Issaquah). If a couple other folks are in a similar situation maybe we could get a small class together with an instructor. (Maybe I missed it but I didn't see anything on the local shop calend...

We use SUEX all the time and they are reliable, robust and well engineered. We have the whole line (XJoy 7, 14, 37 and XK1) available for training, testing and rentals. You should come check them out and see for yourself how you like\dislike them.

oh, I know about hot in a drysuit! Did a DUI demo of the blue heat last year in August and about died before I got in the water...Talk about toasty!! I will be able to travel some with the rental car but I think we have a lot to do planned for this trip! Is Cove 2 busy during the weekday? Vacation ...

Re: UWS Divers Fair Deals
Awesome. That's very helpful. No mention of 119s or sizes other than HP100 eh? Not in their flyer. Bellevue Divers is having a sale through July - their 133's are $349, 100's $299, but no mention of 119's for them either. We currently do not have the 119s in stock, but there is a large order from B...

Re: PNW Light Choice
Just wondering if any of you have any experience with the Big Blue TL4000P torch. I am thinking on getting this as my primary light. I imagine it is good to have a more focused beam while diving in PNW. Is a 10 degree beam good for this? http://www.bigbluedivelights.com/products-detail.asp?Product=...

Re: CCR Experience?
I am curious though with the people saying to move to doubles first. What, in your mind, is the point at which a rebreather is to be considered? I started a thread a couple years ago when I was looking for HP100s/120s and 1/2 the input was to go to a RB, now that I asking about RB info, the input s...

Another unit that has not been mentioned here yet is the Poseidon Mk VI\Se7en - while purists are easy to dismiss it and place into the same category as the GEM\Explorer, it is actually a well thought unit for beginners that allows diving within the MOD1\MOD2 confines for less money than other units...

Re: which dive computer to get
Scubapro has a bunch of seasonal offers on the Galileo Luna which has all the features you are looking for. If you get the right promo you might pay just a little more than your budget for a new item with full warranty (and no, it's not being discontinued)

overall, it has a smaller footprint than a Scubapro\Uwatec Galileo Sol\Luna or Mares HD - Come to the shop check one out and take it for a spin.

Re: SW petrel, xdeep black, ostc sport, sea ear
I've dived Shearwater for the last 4 years and have only good things to say about them. I have the xDeep Black available for test dives and i should have a Subgravity\Seabear H3 for demo dives at H2O Show. The Black is built like a tank with s asealed rechargeable battery, has not given any troubles...

Re: Aeris vs. Suunto
Aeris is out of business - the few products worth selling (A300 CS) are being rebranded and sold under the Oceanic brand (others are already sold under the Oceanic brand as well). Service will continue for the foreseable future, even though there is little service on dive computers other than batter...

When we do the XDeep demo day people will be able to try the Ghost, Stealth and Zeos systems in the pool and in open water - however, you can actually test any of these in the pool now as we have them all available.

Re: Anything like DRIS's Try Tech Day in the Seattle area?
Glad you asked, as Bellevue Divers is finalizing the calendar of a number of Demo Days that will take place every month from April to September. Each event features one manufacturer's gear to try one day in the pool, one day in open water, with in store seminars. We have confirmed SUEX scooters, XDe...
