Re: Open Letter From Cindy Sund Regarding Sund Rock Changes

I've dived at Sund Rock with my wife four times this year and have enjoyed it every time. Yes, it is a little more cumbersome with needing to make a reservation now, but the knowledge that groups will be spaced out and that there will be plenty of room is nice in the time of Covid. And yes, the gent...

Re: Si tech pull over glove system

Yeah I am thinking the way you are using the system may be the better way to go. I originally wanted the rings glued in so I could easily and quickly change out wrist seals on trips. It is starting to look like the glued in ring is more of a pain in the ass then worth it on my neoprene suit. I am a...

Re: Si tech pull over glove system

I have the same type rings (also known as Viking rings) installed on my DUI trilam drysuit. In my case, I installed the rings directly on the latex wrist seals rather on the drysuit itself. I've had zero issues with the pullover gloves leaking in my case.

Re: Where to go in October 2021

Jerome, diving in the UK (specifically Scapa Flow) is definitely on my bucket list of dive locations, but we're thinking something warm in October -- the weather in the UK and Ireland is too close to Seattle at that time of year. Thanks for the suggestion, though. We're strongly considering Fiji now...

Re: Where to go in October 2021

Scubie, the Turks and Caicos look amazing and I'm definitely adding it to my bucket list of dive destinations, but I'm not sure it is good for October due to hurricanes (we're particularly sensitive about hurricanes having been severely impacted by Hurricanes Irene and Sandy when we lived in New Jer...

Where to go in October 2021

My wife and I have a big anniversary coming up next August, but we're planning on celebrating in October after our youngest is off to college (no, really -- we're only celebrating the wedding anniversary -- I promise.) I'm looking for ideas on where to go that has decent diving, but also a luxurious...

Reservations are available online now in order to space the arrivals of divers for Covid.

Re: Drygoves source

You can get them at Seattle Marine and Fishing Supply for under $5. https://www.seamar.com/item/MGI173-SZ/GLOVE-LAT-12-MARIGOLD-BK/ Eight Diving in Des Moines also sells them for less than $10 if that is easier to get to. The ones I'm wearing in my profile photo (inside out so my hands are easier to...

Re: Viz Reports Thread

Cove 2 yesterday had the best viz I've seen there -- we could see the Honey Bear from stem to stern. There was a bit of halocline in the top 10 feet that reduced viz a little, but it was spectacular underneath.

I'm hoping to find something less than $600 depending on condition, inspection status, manifold brand, etc. Any more than that and I will probably just buy new.

WTB: HP100 Doubles (or 2 matched singles)

I'm looking for a set of HP100 doubles (or two matched single HP100s). I would prefer Worthington X7-100s, but I would look at any other 3442psi HP100s. I'm not interested in the 3500psi PST tanks due to the different neck size that they have.

Boat diving in Monterey is overrated :D . Shore diving is great there :supz:
I don't know about that. Some of the pinnacles that you can reach by boat around Pt. Joe and Carmel Bay are amazing.

There is also the new Peregrine that was just released last Thursday. Thinner profile than the Perdix with the same rectangular color display, but no AI, compass or trimix capability, but it is priced to reflect that.

Re: Subsurface (application)

Subsurface is a great dive log and planning package. I would not equate the fees paid for programs like MultiDeco to necessarily translate into more reliability. If anything, the open implementation of the Buhlmann ZHL-16C and VPM algorithms allows more transparency into how it works and to allow bu...

"Fathom" the GPO at Redondo

As you may have seen, the MaST Center released a GPO last week named Fathom. The people at Seattle Dive Tours saw him under the large pipe the next day. Laurie and I dove today to see him and he was still hanging out under the pipe with a nice pile of discarded crab shells around him. It's a great o...

Re: Viz Reports Thread

Three Tree Point - North We made a last minute decision to hit Three Tree Point - North this afternoon on the slack before ebb. Visibility was 5-10 feet down to about 30 feet depth where it opened up to 15 feet or so. Had a punk-ass harbor seal decide it would be funny to tug on our fins repeatedly...
