Re: Drysuit weighting
In terms of size, im 5'11" 190 lbs. The undergarment I got is a Whites brand fleece coverall, its not super fluffy like some Ive seen. I only have one tank, so it will be full when I arrive at the site also.

Drysuit weighting
First drysuit dive tomorrow morning! I was wondering if anyone has any ballpark estimates for how much lead i should carry? I usually dive 24 lbs with my farmer john 7mm and my 119. Its a fusion suit if that makes a difference...

Re: WTB: First Drysuit!
You could always do the volleyball trick... Volleyball trick? You probably dont mean shove a volleyball through the neck seal, but thats what I pictured in my mind :nutty: I got the seals trimmed a bit, only one or two rings I believe, felt a little better. The guy told me to stretch the neck seal ...

Re: WTB: First Drysuit!
I ended up with the L/XL size. I think im going to try to get some help the first time around. Experienced eyes never hurt to have there....Jeff Pack wrote:On a fusion, unless you are on the large size, it shouldn't need trimmed

Re: WTB: First Drysuit!
I thought they had to be trimmed a little to fit individual wrists, necks etc? They felt pretty tight to me, the neck seal more so. But Ive also read that if you are still concious, its not too tight...

And Jeff we'll have to set that dive up sometime soon. Gotta get my inflator hose put on my reg, and hopefully get some help trimming my seals (messing up a seal is not financially possible for me after buying the suit).

Re: WTB: First Drysuit!
Im now the way too proud owner of a White's Fusion One drysuit thanks to Josh at TL Sea!!!! Ended up with a L/XL, flexed all around, bent over and squatted down and it felt good, didnt seem to feel the shoulder tightness that was mentioned by Jeff above. Cant wait to try it out!

Re: WTB: First Drysuit!
IMHO, diving a fusion, you dont need a drysuit course. Its the easiest suit to dive because its not a bag, but form fitting. Any accomplished diver can walk you through drysuit usage in 10 minutes. Buy me a Build Your own Slam at Dennys and I'll walk you through a drysuit course with a fusion... :)...

Re: WTB: First Drysuit!
Sounds like I should go see Dave! BTW, for your size, I'd suggest the 2xl. You'll fit a L/XL, but you'll like the size up better. I'm 6ft, 180, and while a L/XL fits, its tight in the shoulders. The 2xl is abit easier, but try both and see how it feels. Downside, abit of bubble to deal with, but mos...

Re: WTB: First Drysuit!
Didnt realize I could get a new suit for that much... Hopefully the sale lasts a few days since I likely cant make it down there until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest. Is the one at TL Sea the same price Verinne?

WTB: First Drysuit!
As the title states, Im in the market for my first drysuit. My budget only allows for a used suit, and undergarments. Looking for a shell suit (had enough neoprene for a while), and undergarments, and a hood. Im 5'11 190 lbs wear a size 12 or 13.

If those two sites are the only difference, then Im not too concerned which edition I get (although having sund rock in there would be nice).
Update: I have the copy at half price books on hold! Thanks for the replies!
