Re: Attached Drysuit Boots Cause Floaty Feet?

+1000 for what CaptJack says. Find a good mentor or instructor who can help you dial things in. It took me a few tries, but once I found someone who helped me do this to my tanks it was like night and day. Quote from that day: "Your trim is good but you are workin' way way way to hard for it&qu...

Re: #avatareducator for the underwater world

another mock-up... this time about plankton. In the next week or so Mocap Now will be helping me refine the hands on the avatar and then sooner than later i'll get an iPhone X for when i record the narration so that her face is correct and in sync with the words :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zx...

#avatareducator for the underwater world

This is something i've been toying with for quite a while and this past weekend technology and opportunity finally collided.... The avatar and narration are not sync'd up but this is just a really rough first try from the weekend hackathon (meaning it was done in under 48 hours) it was originally do...

stereo360 Alki Pipeline

Pull out your cardboard or Homido mini and enjoy this video of the Alki Pipeline on a sunny day! (it will look monoscopic if you are not watching with a SBS (side by side) viewer. Watch in the Youtube App for stereoscopic 360. Filmed with VUZE camera stitched with the mac beta for Humaneyes studio. ...

Re: Sea star die-off

A number of folks have been asking about Seastar Wasting syndrome, what’s up with it (since our stars have not yet recovered and still show signs here and there) or post necropsy sharing the KCTS9 article where they mention having found the cause that is from a few years ago. One of the primary rese...

Is there a public comment period and contact person/place that will allow us to communicate directly to the Des Moines City Council and/or whomever the agency that is overseeing the environmental aspects of this project? (similar to discussions put forth by Jen re: Saltwater restorations) https://ww...

Re: Viz Reports Thread

C2 sunday night.. vis between 5-10' "Milk, Silt and Seals" was the theme of the dive. 3-4 full size pinnipeds, full on mayhem and madness periodically stirring things up and reducing vis to zero.

Re: Seal puppers wants to play with #360video camera

https://youtu.be/LDyig6DSVf0 Please forgive the lack of perfect sync, the crazy milky vis, the lack of stabilization and the seal pup that wouldn't listen to directions with regards to swimming diagonally across stitch lines and snuggling with the camera. Batteries died in 2 of the cameras just afte...

VR-EL3 with sync generator

The adventure continues... Despite some milky vis and a low battery on my handheld, we got some decent video with the VR-EL3 3 modified gopro array over the weekend at Cove 2. Scan line sync means that all the Gopro’s Turn on and off at the same time and there is no dropped frames etc. So when you l...

Re: sea star wasting

Mid sound is still suffering issues, the mottled stars are the primary asteroid showing recovery (small ones a year or so ago grown to now mid sized) and even so, up to 20% of those on a given dive are wasting. We still have very few Ochre stars of which one or two always seem to be wasting and i ca...

A short video of my OpenROV Trident "Barium" going for her first flight as a 360 underwater drone. As usual watch in Youtube app if the 360 is not working for you. I got out a bit late and my flying is still a bit hesitant cause i didn't want to scrape the bottom camera on the cobbles and ...

Re: Octopus, octopus, octopus?

A loosely related actually kind of a funny story. A few years back, after filming a number of GPO's out walking around I became absolutely convinced that there were two phenotypes types based on video after video there were the 'normal ones' with thick legs, and more blobby skin and darker color and...

Re: First dive with VRPRO VR-EL6 array

And the #360video from the dive... https://youtu.be/6HUj1UkFWlA This isn't the best example, i was a bit rushed on sync/stitch due to other projects in the wings, and the vis was VERY milky, but there are one or two gems in it. Filmed with the VRPRO 6 Gopro array, Gopro Hero 3+ blacks with modified ...
