Re: How is the diving in Okinawa Japan ?

Diving on Okinawa is great, tons of hard and soft corals, water temps in the high 70's this time of year. There are a ton of great shore dives, and several english speaking dive shops that do boat dives to the smaller islands around Okinawa as well as some of the closer in reefs. I posted somewhere ...

Re: TTN ... there's a new Mr. Angry in town ...

Politeness from Mongo is what makes Mr. Angry's around the world so friendly. It is amazing how polite and friendly people become when a large bearded man is polite to them.
I think its a Santa Claus thing.

When I get done with the job I'm on, I think I'll be diving TTN until I meet Mr. Angry.
Mr. Angry's everywhere are suprisingly nice to Mongo.

Jacksonbrown, go ask a cop or park ranger what the rules are regarding dive flags. My money is they don't know, don't care.

Re: fly your flag

So what's the reason dive flags are to be flown?
If an experienced captain doesn't know, what are the odds the kid with a waverunner does?

Would shooting at an offending boat be considered self defense?

Mongo, nothing like a little military slang, "household six". I got the name Mongo from others as well, but it was due to the similarities I have with Alex Karras. Greg, I'm glad my equipment choices amuse you, wait until this pair of chuck taylors fall apart I think I'm gonna look for som...

Re: So my dog decided to pee on my camera...

I've got kids and have had camera's drenched in quite a few unsavory things, battery never got wet so I cleaned them up with baby wipes and alcohol and let them dry and they continued to work. If just the thought of something next to your face that had dog pee on it bothers you, what about that wate...

some things I wonder about: Are those of us who are strictly recreational divers, born with a cheapskate gene? Re: A look at the pretty snow

That part of the country gets hot and humid in the summer and unlike the PNW people out there do a lot of front porch sitting so a ceiling fan on the porch isn't that odd there or in other hot humid summer locations.

That sucks, did you check to see if any of your insurance coverage covers this type of loss? Homeowners,DAN etc... I know seems obvious but many people don't check, and the worse they can say is no.

think I need to clarify, I notice and remember people larger than myself. I assume people who are of a shorter than normal stature notice and remember people that they identify as shorter also since the vast majority are bigger/taller.
If I offend its purely on accident,I'm just not well refined.

Re: the LONG step up at Les Davis

Yes, I've met her. I'm big, so a large number of people are smaller/shorter and I really don't pay attention to their size unless they are bigger/taller than myself. I'm a bigot that way.
