"Argon is a nontoxic, odorless, colorless, nonflammable gas stored in cylinders at high pressure. It can cause rapid suffocation when concentrations are sufficient to reduce oxygen levels below 19.5%. It is heavier than air and may concentrate in low areas. Self- Contained Breathing Apparatus (...

Once an argon always and argon bottle, What. Not true. And breathing Argon with Oxygen is fine. It just is more narcotic than nitrogen. But breathing 100% argon could be fatal, which is the mistake one would be trying to avoid. Argon has a much higher affinity for hemoglobin than oxygen, so if inha...

2. A warm water trip to anywhere.

3. Dry suit powder, or a Starbucks/Tully's/Borders/Barnes&Noble gift card

Sigh....

I have DAN gear insurance as well (I liked the one-stop-shopping convenience) but know a few who use DEPP (Dive Equipment Protection Plan) who swear by them as well.

it seems to be pretty expensive if you don't have a lot of expensive equipment to cover. you might be better off getting a homeowner's/renter's policy that will cover it for everything except flooding. ??? Unfortunately, I found out my renter's insurance did not cover anything out of the country, s...

TL Sea also fills argon. I use a 15cu bottle and it's never cost me more than about $8.00 to fill it. Lasts about 6-8 hours, so 6-8 dives with my regular buddies. And yes, it's worth it! I'm so much more comfortable in the winter, I can last an hour and not be shivering.

The CLX does take longer to dry and is heavier (weight can be an issue if traveling with your dry suit). Don't think it's much different in terms of warmth tho.

Well, I did. March, 2002, in a snowstorm at 3 Tree Point. Darn near froze too (I was still a newer diver and didn't have my layers figured right yet).
