Not receiving a kickback or anything, but I just took Mischi Carter's "Tides and Currents" workshop. It was $40 well spent. It now makes a whole lot more sense when CaptnJack says "Dive this on a slack before flood but not before ebb." She also goes over the topography of most of...

This last Sunday I was rewarded with a medium (10-15) school of smallish (5-6 inch) Black Rockfish under the pilings at the Edmond Oil Dock. Very exciting.

If my house caught on fire, I'd grab dog, (kid and husband had better be able to run out on their own) and my Salvo light.

I AM NOT KIDDING.

Well, I gotta give it up for Diver C. Although sometimes it takes him forrrrrrrrrever to get his act together above water, he's got it going on underwater. He's also SUPER EXCITED about the sport and gets me diving more often than I would otherwise and would be there to save my bacon (if I couldn't ...

Sounder, I think you got your websites mixed up. This is the Northwest Dive Club, not that XX rated golden one that your wife keeps trying to block you out of. ;p

When can we go diving again? Let me know when you're heading out if I can tag along.

A knife--or a pair of shears is good too for fishing line, et al. (Mental note: Avoid 6 Gill dives with Sounder......) The thermos idea is good. I think Sounder brings an entire cooler filled with hot water. (I can barely remember to bring all of my dive stuff. Last time I forgot a hood and had to r...

I'm an ApolloBeliever, too. My dive buddy calls it my "SnoopDawg" drysuit because it is sooooo ghetto. He got it free (he also got the computer I'm using the same way--talk about a cheap date) as a throw in with some tanks he was getting and the suit fits me fine. It's too long in the legs...

I would add water (cold for drinking and/or hot water to dump in your suit) and a hat (not so important in August, but just wait for February! Brrrrr!)

So, Sounder can wear a Sunstar (who looks like a starving brainsucker) for a hat and Calvin can pick the most visually and gastronomically disturbing avatars available on the Interwebs and that's just fine. But PinkPadigal submits one adorable picture of underwater luvvv, and you 10yo boys are kicki...

Hey! Whoa-ah! Stop right there. If the _good_ divers don't go, then who will be left? Huh? Answer that one. I had a great time. It was sunny, the Q was good and friends were all around. It's not a good dive, but then it's not really supposed to be a good dive. :) Don't let a few silt storms keep you...

I'd get it in a heartbeat. Heck, anything not to look all black, black, blackety-black-black. I think most dive stuff designers/makers are ex-military or wannabe military. I am not in the military. I am not a seal (or a Seal). I am not a diving Ninja. I am not afraid to be different. I do not need t...

I paid $35, was at the treasure hunt and found a ball in some ick vis while hanging with some ho-rrendous divers. (One guy elbowed me out of the way, so I eased back and watched him careen into the muck from the force of his own movement and then "swim" away with his hands while his octo _...

You're going to have your own treasure hunt? What does that mean, Sounder?

All I get is this mental picture of you zipping around underwater sticking your matchbox cars under pilings and proudly "finding" them before anyone else can get there.

I'll be there for the spectacle. :)
