Came across this Pacific Staghorn Sculpin trying to enjoy a very fresh crab dinner while being attacked by another crab.
Love those Redondo night dives!

WTB or rent -Tropical BCD needed for a marine educator.
Hi Gang, I'm headed out to the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary for a few days in Mid-July with 20 other marine educators and I am looking for an in-expensive lighter weight medium sized BCD. My Zeagle Ranger works but it is really big on me once I get rid of all my drysuit layers the o...

Shrimp on Anemone - Commensal?
Saw this Shrimp on the Day Rose anemone at Three Tree a few weeks back. First it was under the tentacles but then it moved up on top.
Wondering if anyone has ever seen this before? Is this common behavior? Greg Jensen?

Re: Best place to buy
There are lot's of places online to buy and they seem to all have the same prices on housings. If you want to support a local PNW shop, you can go to http://www.opticaloceansales.com. You can also go into their physical store near lake union in Seattle and get your hands on the gear before you buy. ...

Gravid Red Irish Lords at Three Tree- Question
Fellow Sculpinians! I've been seeing lots of RIL activity at 3 Tree lately. Almost always two fish at the site of eggs. Not sure if one is laying and the other is waiting to fertilize or one is guarding or...? The one on the bottom was hugely gravid-reminiscent of a pufferfish. RIL Eggs.jpg RIL Grav...

Well Howdy Alex,
Thanks for the speculations!
Another Cephalophile on twitter suggested that it was a senescent male octo who had given up.

Red octopus with parasite-What's up?
Saw this red octo at Three Tree yesterday with a leech-like parasite on it.
I usually see these parasites on Pygmy Poachers but never before on a ceph. I would have thought that the octo would groom it off. Anyone else seen this before?

Two Hermits battle as the shrimp referee intervenes. Greg J?
Found these two "splendid?" hermits battling at Three Tree last week and the shrimp seemed to be trying to get in on the action.
